Clos Saint Jean is one of the most important red terroirs in Chassagne, sitting on the mid-slope just behind the village. The vineyard tends to deliver wines with a bit more breadth and structure than other Chassagne reds, making it a serious candidate for long-term cellaring.
Pierre-Yves Colin-Morey only produces a handful of red wines each year, and this is one of the standouts. The 2023 vintage brings a lovely clarity to the fruit – a year that, despite the heat at harvest, gave wines with moderate alcohol and bright freshness. That energy runs right through this Clos Saint Jean, framing the darker fruit and spice notes in a way that feels poised rather than heavy.
Quantities, as always, are tiny, and it’s a Burgundy that will only become more rewarding with time in bottle. For those who want to explore the more structured side of Chassagne red from one of the Côte’s most in-demand producers, this is a compelling place to start.

Our warehouse is automated so unless you tell us otherwise, we will ship your order.
