For a region more famous for its reds, this Guigal white is something of a sleeper bargain buy. From the masters of the Northern Rhône comes a beautifully assembled blend led by Viognier, showing all the floral flair and stone fruit generosity the variety is known for.
It’s a serious white that’s also ridiculously drinkable. Bright yellow-gold in the glass, with a nose full of apricot, white peach, honeysuckle and white flowers. The palate walks a tightrope of richness and freshness, well-rounded and textured, but never heavy, finishing clean and dry.
There’s no oak here, just stainless steel and precision winemaking to let the fruit shine. It’s an unpretentious, over-delivering white that punches above its weight every vintage - and this one’s no different.
