Description

Les Chaumées sits right up high on the slope at the northern, Puligny-facing end of Chassagne, running right alongside the old quarry. Caroline Morey’s parcel features serious old-timer stock planted way back in the 1950s, notable for producing tiny millerandage berries that pack immense flavor concentration. Up at this altitude, the sheer amount of limestone in the soil shapes a style of Chassagne that completely skips over heavy, blockbuster richness, leaning instead into crystalline purity and structural lift.

In the glass, it shows a pale colour and a restrained, elegant nose of white orchard fruit. True to the 2023 vintage, there is a brilliant transparency to the fruit and a vibrant, life-affirming freshness that makes it an absolute pleasure to drink. As it sits in the glass, it builds beautifully, revealing a gorgeous, cashmere-like texture that is incredibly pleasing on the palate.

What makes this wine so impressive is how that luxurious mid-palate texture is effortlessly corralled by a great line of integrated acidity. It is a hallmark of Caroline's delicately refined style—never forced, never flashy. The finish is exceptionally long and leaves a detailed, chalky footprint. While it has the energy to be fun to drink early on, it will really begin to unfurl from 2028 and coast comfortably through to 2034.

91-93 points - "Pale colour, white fruit in a restrained fashion on the nose. Builds in fruit and charm on the nose, with a cashmere texture which is pleasing and well-integrated acidity. As ever, in the delicately refined style of Caroline Morey. Drink from 2028-2034." - Jasper Morris MW (Inside Burgundy)

From vines planted in the 1950’s located quite high on the slope at the northern end near Puligny. Lots of limestone in this vineyard and it shows with super fine aromatics and palate staining intensity of orchard fruits backed by a great line of acidity. Very long, very impressive. Near Philippe Colin’s vines, near the quarry. Older vines with millerandes.

No, feel free to mix it up! There is no minimum requirement. You can order wines in any quantity or combination, 1 or 50+ bottles.

No, all prices are set at the full discounted dozen rate already.

Most wine retailers list at a single-bottle price and then discount 10–15% when you buy six or twelve. We've taken the opposite approach. Since the overwhelming majority of our orders are already 6 bottles or more, our list price is set for the case buyer from the start. There's no inflated single-bottle price to discount down from.

What that means for you:

- One price, same for everyone — no minimum to hit to unlock the best rate
- No mixed-six gymnastics to qualify for a discount
- Our single-bottle price is typically at or below a traditional retailer's by-the-dozen rate

Put simply: the box discount is already baked into the price.

**And if you find it cheaper elsewhere?** Let us know. If the same wine is available at a lower price at another retailer (including at their mixed-six or by-the-dozen rate) we're happy to match it.

If you can't add more wine to your cart it means we are low on stock of that wine. For example, if you are only able to 3 bottles and no more that means we only have 3 bottles left of that wine. If it's a must have, please contact us and we may be able to order more in for you.
