Description

Hereafter Here is the Alheit project for the future. While the rest of the range focuses on the old guard, Chris and Suzaan Alheit sourced this from high-quality young vineyards in the Swartland and Polkadraai. They started this project to ensure the next generation has great vines to work with, and the quality is already startlingly high.

The winemaking is identical to their flagship wines: whole-bunch pressed and wild fermented in old barrels. It is designed to be a moreish, accessible entry point into the Alheit style, though it still carries the same precision and depth as their single-site bottlings.

This is a bright, juicy Chenin full of apple and sweet herbs. On the palate, it has a slow-moving swell of flavor that is both savory and pretty. It is a fantastic buy for anyone wanting to experience the Alheit DNA without the single-vineyard price tag, though like all their wines, we only have a small amount available.

"a total bargain in the range, with a nice interplay of lees, beeswax and granite-derived structure and a touch of flinty reduction."

94 points - "Hereafter Here is what Chris Alheit calls a "young vineyard wine" although it contains older material from the Paardeberg and Tygerberg too. Blended with a splash of Semillon from Franschhoek, it's a total bargain in the range, with a nice interplay of lees, beeswax and granite-derived structure and a touch of flinty reduction. 2024-29." - Greg Sherwood MW

Hereafter Here is a young vineyard wine. The great thing about planting young vines is that you can choose the site and the material purely for the sake of quality wine. Some of our favourite growers have already planted new vines, as will we on our own farm in the coming years. I find the idea of planting for the future very exciting! Our kids will have nice mature vines to work with. This is also a great space for us to nurture younger parcels that are very good but still too young for Cartology. This vintage contains parcels from the Swartland to Stellenbosch.

No, feel free to mix it up! There is no minimum requirement. You can order wines in any quantity or combination, 1 or 50+ bottles.

No, all prices are set at the full discounted dozen rate already.

Most wine retailers list at a single-bottle price and then discount 10–15% when you buy six or twelve. We've taken the opposite approach. Since the overwhelming majority of our orders are already 6 bottles or more, our list price is set for the case buyer from the start. There's no inflated single-bottle price to discount down from.

What that means for you:

- One price, same for everyone — no minimum to hit to unlock the best rate
- No mixed-six gymnastics to qualify for a discount
- Our single-bottle price is typically at or below a traditional retailer's by-the-dozen rate

Put simply: the box discount is already baked into the price.

**And if you find it cheaper elsewhere?** Let us know. If the same wine is available at a lower price at another retailer (including at their mixed-six or by-the-dozen rate) we're happy to match it.

If you can't add more wine to your cart it means we are low on stock of that wine. For example, if you are only able to 3 bottles and no more that means we only have 3 bottles left of that wine. If it's a must have, please contact us and we may be able to order more in for you.
