Description

As Nick Spencer says, "If you like - Pinot Noir then you will love this Grenache..."

This is a very different beast to the more dense and powerful styles of Grenache out of South Australia, Nick's P.A.R. Grenache is built more on delicacy and freshness - a lacy framework of tannin and some beautiful spice.

With no oak in the road, Grenache's most compelling characteristics are thrust to the fore. It's juicy, it's delicious, it's Grenache stripped back to it's most sexy and smashable.

"So bright, so pure, so lovely. Raspberry, strawberry, roses, spice and a flicker of mint and herb... Delightful."
- Gary Walsh (The Wine Front)

95 Points - "So bright, so pure, so lovely. Raspberry, strawberry, roses, spice and a flicker of mint and herb. It’s light to medium-bodied, fine emery board tannin grip, fresh cranberry acidity, a cool feel to it, finely wrought, with a long spicy, gently peppery finish, with a subtle twist of orange peel. Delightful." - Gary Walsh (The Wine Front)

    So bloody good

This is my go-to grenache I always have in the wine fridge and no matter how often I serve it to my friends they still always make a point to comment on how good it is. It’s smooth, but lengthy, a little acid but perfectly balanced.

Tasting Notes - Bright Garnet Colour, aromas of sour cherries and strawberries laced with beautiful spice. The palate is juicy, crunchy and long with lovely supporting tannins.

Background - Matured in Amphoras for 18 months. Grenache has a long history in Australia originally planted in the early 1800's and is currently undergoing somewhat of a renaissance around the globe. Very well suited to Australia warm and dry climate often producing what is coined in the industry as 'warm climate Pinot Noir'

Nick Spencer Wines

Nick Spencer is one of NSW's most decorated winemakers. Over the span of more than two decades, he has become perhaps the state's most outspoken advocate for the potential of the regions of the NSW High Country, in particular, Tumbarumba and Gundagai.

Nick's wines exemplify balance, style, immense drinkability and exceptional value for money. As his label has expanded, his winemaking has become more adventurous, now incorporating the use of amphora, sulphur-free bottlings and a more stripped-back winemaking style to highlight the quality of the fruit that these lesser-known NSW regions can produce.

He is one of the most important producers in NSW today and is the touchstone of quality for the state.
