About the Wine
BK Wines are up to their usual tricks. When they're not too busy relaxing by the winery's home made half-pipe, they're making some of the most interest driven and energetic wines in Australia.
The Carte Blanche Rouge, for example, is a quirky little number which is based on Shiraz. The wine also spent time on Pinot Noir lees and was given generous splash of Pinot Gris. But the blend itself doesn't matter. What matters is the result. And the result is an easy-going, fun-loving, juicy red wine. With bright flavours of red cherries, fresh berries and a hypnotic floral lift, this is absolutely a wine to chill and enjoy on those long and lazy afternoons.
About BK Wines
BK Wines is one of the poster boys of the modern artisan wine movement in the Adelaide Hills.
Owner/winemaker Brendon Keys is not afraid to do things differently. His wines are all from single vineyards (some biodynamically farmed), fermented with wild yeasts, unfined and unfiltered, with extended skin contact and even clay fermentation eggs occasionally thrown in for good measure.
His wines are creatively imagined, an artist meets skateboarding punk rocker kind of vibe.
Brendan is one of the more respected producers of the Adelaide Hills avant-garde.
