About The Wine
Michael Papps describes his Second Take Grenache as a wine where Grenache meets Beaujolais.
The sweet, vibrant fruit off this old vineyard is fermented with a good amount of whole bunches and sees barely a whisper of new oak - none of which impedes the pure red-fruited expression of variety and region.
It's a red wine bursting with vitality and exuberance. It's Grenache running full tilt at freshness.
About Yelland & Papps
Yelland and Papps are not your average Barossa producer.
Owned and run by husband and wife team Michael and Susan Papps since 2005, their philosophy is about respecting what has made the Barossa great, whilst also experimenting with a new range of grape varieties and winemaking techniques.
Grenache and Shiraz are their primary focus in reds, while their textural Roussanne and Vermentino provide delicious alternatives to the typical regional white varieties.
These are very well made, interesting wines that show Barossa warmth and richness with a little bit of an edge.
