About The Wine
The Hickson vineyard was one of the earliest vineyards established in Mornington Peninsula back in 1982.
Since 2013 these mature, low-yielding vines are tended by the Kerri Greens team with no herbicides, systemic fungicides or insecticides and no irrigation.
They harvest tiny amounts of fruit from these vines, with the Chardonnay finding natural balance and power with little intervention in the winemaking. It's a rich, yet trim style of Chardonnay, with plenty of flavour but freshness in tow also.
About Kerri Greens
Kerri Greens is a lo-fi Mornington Peninsula outfit here born from a spin off of the iconic Quealy family label.
Tom McCarthy is the son of Kevin and Kathleen, raised in the family business, he knows Mornington Peninsula vineyards like the back of his hand. For the Kerri Greens label, he and Quealy vineyard manager Lucas Blanck and their partners Sarah Saxton and Alyce Blanck, have teamed up to start a small label exploring some of these sites.
Great wines emerging here - sensitively farmed, hand crafted - lovely modern expressions of the Mornington.
