About The Wine
A French twist to Aussie Grenache from the famous M. Chapoutier. Michel bought the Landsborough vineyard back in 2007 with an eye on making discreet, graceful Australian wines from Rhone varieties, such as this lovely Grenache.
All handpicked, destemmed and aged in concrete rather than oak. Fresh raspberries and redcurrants on the nose, along with a distinct white pepper spice note.
On the cusp of full-bodied this has lots of high toned energy and good acidity. Delicious drinking right now.
About M Chapoutier
The M is Michel, Michel Chapoutier, one of the most famous names in Rhone wine history, and renowned globally for wines across all price and quality spectrums.
Seven generations after his ancestors began making and selling wine in the Rhone he established an Australian outpost called Domaine Tournon, comprising vineyards in the Pyrenees and Heathcote, named after the small town on the Rhone that faces the hill of Hermitage.
His aim? To make distinctively Australian wines from Rhone varieties, utlising organic and biodynamic principles.
