Aphelion: Modern McLaren Vale at it's Finest
Aphelion was established by Rob Mack and Louise Rhodes in mid-2015 with a clear vision. They had one thing on their mind, to craft: "Genuine, Authentic, Quality McLaren Vale Grenache."

A fair few vintages in now and they're right on the money, with Rob being known in some circles as "Mr. Grenache", gaining a reputation for being one of the region's greatest producers of this much-loved variety.

The new goodies we have in store from Aphelion (including the 94 point winning 2022 Confluence Grenache) show that not only can they craft incredible Grenache, but they also work a fair bit of wizardry in other wine styles - including some fantastic textural whites!

With their love of red Grenache, it makes sense that they'd tackle Grenache Blanc in the range too - we have their 2021 expression of the variety in store now, which swept Huon Hooke at The Real Review off his feet, earning 95 points and being dubbed as "set[ting] the bar for this grape variety in Australia."

And if you're a lover of Chenin Blanc, you can't go past their 2022 PIR - fresh and flowing, with 94 points and some lovely words from Gary Walsh at The Wine Front, too.

If you're looking for some bargain McV offerings, Rob and Louise have you covered there too with their Welkin range. Each one in this range is just $28 a bottle, and the reds are bright and moreish, while the Chenin is pure-fruited and fresh, all built for early consumption and laid-back drinking.

There's something for everyone in the Aphelion range, so take a peek here!
