2024 Turon Limited Series Pinot Noir

The Limited Series is where Turon White really digs into the potential of his home turf in Lenswood. This is a high-altitude site that naturally produces a more elegant, structural style of Pinot. It's a significant step up in complexity, focusing on the more cerebral side of the variety rather than just simple primary fruit.

The 2024 is a pretty, translucent red that leads with wild strawberry and sour cherry, but it’s the non-fruit characters that make it interesting. There’s a distinct forest-floor earthiness and a bit of dried herb that gives it a savoury edge. It’s been handled gently in the winery, allowing the fine, chalky tannins to provide a neat frame without crowding the delicate fruit.

If you’re after a Pinot with real sense of place and plenty of detail, this is a top-flight Adelaide Hills example.

95 points "A succulent pinot noir offering up a cavalcade of red berries tightly wound in pulverised rock tannin, roasted beetroot, rhubarb and dried herb inflections... But its architecture is serious, and the wine seriously good overall." - Mike Bennie (Halliday Wine Companion)

2024 Turon Limited Series Chardonnay

This is Turon White’s "Limited Series" take on Chardonnay, sourced from the cool, elevated slopes of Lenswood. It’s a more serious, structured and focused wine than his standard release, having spent ten months on lees and undergoing full malolactic fermentation.

The 2024 is a compact, elegant wine with a striking chalky texture. It starts lean with green apple and lime, but as it opens up, it reveals deeper layers of nectarine, cedar, and a touch of custard powder. There’s a distinct saline, oyster-shell character here that really drives the finish, giving the acidity a savoury, flavoured edge.

While it’s impressive now - especially after a bit of air - this has the bones to develop beautifully over the next few years. Top-tier Chardy from one of the Hills' rising stars.

95 points "A toothsome chardonnay of lighter frame, compact nature, striking, chalky texture and a crystalline mid-palate and finish... It harks back to Chablis of old. A beautiful wine." - Mike Bennie (Halliday Wine Companion)

2024 Turon Pinot Noir

This is Turon White’s more easygoing Pinot – bright, fresh and made to enjoy straight away. It’s got that lifted red fruit and subtle herb thing going on, thanks to some whole bunch in the ferment, and there’s a fine line of tannin that keeps everything in check without weighing it down.

Turon’s quickly becoming one of the names to know in the Adelaide Hills. His wines are always thoughtful, but they don’t overthink it either – this one is a good example of that balance. It’s light but not simple, with enough detail to keep it interesting and a clean, dry finish that brings you back for another glass.

It’s the sort of Pinot that works just as well on a Tuesday night as it does at lunch with a few mates. No need to overcomplicate things – just chill it slightly and enjoy.

95 points
"Structured and serious; this is one for big glasses and a good decant to get its best. Proper stuff."
- Mike Bennie (Halliday Wine Companion)

2024 Turon Gamay

Turon White’s take on Gamay is all about the lighter side of the variety. He isn't chasing the heavy extraction of a Shiraz; instead, he aims for something "swishy" and easy-going. It’s the kind of red that feels at home with a slight chill, focusing on transparency and fragrance rather than raw power.

The 2024 release has a real savoury, garden-herb character to it, still with all the classic hits of dark cherry and raspberry. There’s a fine, silty grip to the tannins that gives it a bit of shape.

It’s a "painted in watercolour" style of wine - light, pretty, and very drinkable. If you’re a fan of the more ethereal, herbal expressions of Gamay coming out of the Hills, this hits the mark perfectly.

92 points "A plump-feeling gamay... Swishy texture, a little silty grip from tannin, washy flavours of dark cherry, raspberry with smoked paprika, sage leaf and bay leaf chiming in." - Mike Bennie (Halliday Wine Companion)

2024 Turon Chardonnay

Turon White’s take on Chardonnay is always about clarity and drinkability. He isn’t trying to make a heavy, oak-driven wine; instead, he lets the high-altitude fruit from the Hills do the heavy lifting. We’ve found his style to be one of the most consistent in the region for those who prefer their whites on the fresher side.

The 2024 is a straightforward, well-made expression. You get the expected stone fruit and a bit of nutty nougat, but it’s anchored by a cool, flinty character. It isn’t overly complicated, focusing more on a crisp, lively texture that makes it very easy to drink.

It’s the kind of Chardonnay that sits perfectly on a lunch table. If you're after a reliable, bright local Chardonnay without the heavy baggage, this is a great shout.

92 points "A neat and tidy expression of chardonnay with requisite stone fruits... the overarching theme is of a more crisp and lively expression of the variety, done well." - Mike Bennie (Halliday Wine Companion)

2025 Turon Pinot Gris

Turon White’s 'Hills Series' is all about capturing the pure vibrancy of the region at great prices, and this 2025 Pinot Gris is a textbook example. Turon leans into the more serious 'Gris' side of the spectrum here - think slippery textures and fleshy weight rather than simple, lean fruit.

The winemaking is hands-on but thoughtful, involving wild ferments in both barrel and stainless steel, plus a few months on lees to build out the mid-palate. It’s a complete wine from the first pour, smelling of fragrant spice and florals. On the palate, it's all about that classic Pinot G pear character, wrapped in a creamy, mouth-filling texture. A tight, squeaky finish and a bit of chalky tension keeps everything refreshing and balanced.

Gris with real personality and seriously great value.

93 points "It does justice to the naming of 'pinot gris' with its Alsace bent of slippery texture, fleshy pear characters and adornment of sweet spices. A plush feel but controlled... Balanced, refreshing and spot on." - Mike Bennie (The Wine Front)

96 points "A complete wine from the outset... fuller flavours like Williams pear and fragrant spice notes swirling in and around each other, finishing off with a mouth-filling texture. Plenty of pleasure to be had." - Tony Love (Wine Pilot)
