About The Pack
You say Piedmont, I say Piemonte.... Either way it's definitely not Piedmonte.
Anyhoo, whether you are French, Italian or anything else, we can all agree that Piemonte makes the best Nebbiolo in the world. And so many offers and packs concentrate solely on that variety.
But Piemonte red wine is so much more, as we hope to show you in this Explore Piemonte pack!
It features a whole bunch of bangin' red wines from this beautiful region - from Nebbiolo to Barbera to Dolcetto, and all the blends in between. Italian boom time.
2020 Maretti Langhe Rosso
Produced by the winemaker behind the famed wines of Mirafiore and Fontanafredda, this is a delicious little Langhe blend that gives you the personality of Piemonte at just a snip of a price.
This is a blend of Nebbiolo and Barbera - the region's two hero red varieties - with a mix of traditional and modern winemaking techniques used during production.
It's an unpretentious and totally smashable entry point into the wines of the region, both earthy and brightly fruited.
If you need some quaffing table reds and you love the Piemontese vibe, buying just doesn't get much better than this.

Albino Rocca's excellent value Langhe Nebbiolo gives you a real insight into the quality of all their wines.

The Langhe Nebbiolo is simply a more approachable blend of fruit that just didn't quite make the cut for the family's standard of Barolo.
You get all the charm of the Nebbiolo grape, you get the beauty of the Piemonte region, you get the Massolino name, all at a much more hip-pocket-friendly price.
You drink the Langhe while the Barolo matures in the cellar, is the thinking. And drink it, we will!
This is a lovely release of Langhe from the Massolino family. It will improve over the mid-long term, but it doesn't need it to be enjoyed.
2018 Alberto Oggero Roero Le Coste
Concentrated Roero Nebbiolo from a warm, south-facing vineyard in Le Coste.
The vineyard is Alberto Oggero's grandfather's and with its southerly aspect, high clay concentration and healthy vine age it makes a deeper, denser style of Roero red.
Full-flavoured and lined with sandy, grippy tannin this a linear but powerful wine that very much reward a few years in a cool cellar.
Alberto is one of the rising stars of the Roero and wines like this are the reason why...

Arnaldo Rivera is about as thoroughbred Piemontese as it gets.
Born in 1919 in Castiglione Falletto, Rivera was a school teacher before becoming Mayor of Castiglione Falletto in 1951. He was re-elected to the position continuously for over 35 years, all the while promoting and investing in his home.
The man feels a deep connection to the region. In 1958, he decided to start a co-op winery in Barolo where he could help local growers and winemakers connect and protect their incomes. He helped some 500+ families through difficult times off his own bat. The man loves his home.
This Dolcetto is a lovely contemporary expression of both region and variety. It's medium bodied, fragrant as all get out and the perfect wine you want to drink but you don't have to think too hard. It's a perfect pizza wine, with fresh berries, fresh acidity and soft, moreish tannins.
