About The Wine
Neil Prentice is very Pinot-centric in his approach to his vineyard, with it being the most widely planted variety.
He is the only person to have grown a unique clone of Pinot Noir from seed in the country. The combination of this one of a kind Pinot strain and the Gippsland terroir produces a fruit like no other in the country.
This is the Holly's Garden Blanc de Noir; made from Pinot Noir fruit, containing wine from each vintage all the way back to 2007, with a little bit of Chardonnay added for added umami goodness.
With low dosage and the complexity that comes with the compounding of multiple vintages, this is a deliciously textural bubbles and great value from this small biodynamic producer.
About Moondarra
In the foothills of Gippsland's Mount Baw Baw lies the beautiful Moondarra estate.
Here, Neil Prentice grows mostly Pinot Noir and Nebbiolo, with a small amount of other varieties such as Chardonnay and Pinot Grigio planted here too.
Farming with mostly biodynamic practices, his wines have a distinct personality and charm about them, something Prentice calls "funkosity". It's the trademark Moondarra style, made for seriously enjoyable drinking.
