This Muscat comes from the Faber Vineyard planted back in 2000.

John Griffiths makes his fortified by blending 50% of the newly made vintage Muscat with 50% aged material to get complexity and power with freshness. This is one of the best in the country outside of Rutherglen. Fully worthy of its cult following.

As Campbell Mattinson once put it, "If you have any inclination towards Australian fortified muscat, you are quite sure to love drinking this."

Our Liqueur Muscat is a 20 year labour of love. We have kept each vintage separate in small old oak barrels until blending. Once a year we review all the barrels and make up a new blend. Half of this is bottled and half returned to oak for another year, making up the basis for the next blend, allowing us to achieve consistency from year to year.
The nose shows raisin and distinctive rose petal notes of semi-dried Muscat. The palate is intensely sweet and viscous, bursting with raisin, honey, and dried fig. The lusciousness of the wine is balanced by the warm spirit, and the long palate finishes dry and clean leaving intense lingering flavours in one's mouth.

Faber Vineyard

John Griffiths & Jane Micallef established Faber Vineyard in 1997, after John spent 10 years gaining all the knowledge he could on how to make fantastic warm climate wines.

They chose to plant and embrace "traditional" varieties that thrive in the Swan Valley, like Verdelho and Shiraz, turning them into rich and flavourful wines with supreme drinkability and age-worthiness.

The aim of Faber Vineyard is to continue to make their mark on Swan Valley wine by creating wines with their signature house style.
