2023 Lambert Nebbiolo
If there’s one wine that defines Luke Lambert’s reputation, it’s this. Planted halfway up Denton’s sun-catching northwest slope, the Nebbiolo block is a patchwork of six clones rooted in granitic sand over bedrock - a rare and striking terroir for the Yarra Valley. Luke farms it with the same quiet precision that runs through all his wines, chasing perfume and beauty above all else.
2023 joins the ranks of what Luke considers his finest Nebbiolo years - alongside 2012, 2015 and 2017 - and the quality is obvious from the first sniff. Wild-fermented, 18 days on skins, then 18 months resting in old Slavonian and French oak foudres, it’s a wine of structure and depth.
Rose petals, sour cherry, orange rind and anise, while the palate balances brightness with a fine-boned tannin web that stretches long and savoury. It's drinking very well now but an easy ten year option for the cellar. The 2023, we think is drinking better in its youth than the last couple of releases.
Luke calls Nebbiolo a variety “built for beauty”. Made in painfully small quantities, this is an unmistakable benchmark for Australian Nebbiolo.
2024 Lambert Syrah
Luke Lambert’s Syrah is a masterclass in restraint. Much like the man who makes it, it's a wine that's complex and nuanced rather than out-and-out power. The fruit comes from the sunnier western side of the Denton Hill, where thin soils and low yields give naturally concentrated berries.
In 2024, Lambert worked with 80% whole bunches, each ferment foot-stomped by Rosalind to gently burst the skins, coaxing perfume and texture from every berry. The wine was raised in a large, neutral French oak foudre to keep the fruit and site at the centre of the story.
It’s an especially expressive release and the richest of the last 4 years in our opinion: violet, blueberry and a smoky, lifted spice on the nose; juicy blue and black fruits on the palate, threaded with orange rind, anise and a dusting of tannin so fine it’s almost suede-like. There’s muscle in the wine, but it’s reined in by Lambert’s feather-light touch. The balance is spot-on, the detail precise, and the finish lingers long after the glass is empty.
This is Yarra Valley Syrah at its most elegant, and proof again why Luke Lambert remains one of Australia’s most compelling winemakers of his generation.
2024 Lambert Chardonnay
Luke Lambert doesn’t make flashy Chardonnay; he makes it to speak of where it’s from. This one comes from a high, east-facing pocket of the Denton Vineyard, where granitic soils are so thin you can see the rock grinning through.
Clone 95 vines here produce small, early-ripening bunches, and Luke treats them with his trademark light touch - whole-bunch press, wild ferment, zero additions apart from a whisper of sulphur, then time in a seasoned 2,000-litre foudre.
In 2024, that site delivered Chardonnay with a little more flesh on the bones - sunny fruit layered over its usual mineral spine. White blossom, hay, citrus oil and a cool stony core are all in play, joined by a savoury umami edge that lingers on the finish. There’s density, but it’s the kind of density an athlete has - all sinew, no fat.
It’s another wine of precision and deliciousness and yet another reason Luke Lambert remains one of the most admired voices in the new era of Australian Chardonnay.

No, all prices are set at the full discounted dozen rate already.
Most wine retailers list at a single-bottle price and then discount 10–15% when you buy six or twelve. We've taken the opposite approach. Since the overwhelming majority of our orders are already 6 bottles or more, our list price is set for the case buyer from the start. There's no inflated single-bottle price to discount down from.
What that means for you:
- One price, same for everyone — no minimum to hit to unlock the best rate
- No mixed-six gymnastics to qualify for a discount
- Our single-bottle price is typically at or below a traditional retailer's by-the-dozen rate
Put simply: the box discount is already baked into the price.
**And if you find it cheaper elsewhere?** Let us know. If the same wine is available at a lower price at another retailer (including at their mixed-six or by-the-dozen rate) we're happy to match it.
If you can't add more wine to your cart it means we are low on stock of that wine. For example, if you are only able to 3 bottles and no more that means we only have 3 bottles left of that wine. If it's a must have, please contact us and we may be able to order more in for you.
