2017 Rippon ‘Rippon’ Mature Vine Pinot Noir
The 'Rippon' Rippon Pinot Noir, as vigneron Nick Mills describes it, is the voice of his vineyard.
This is a blend of all of the old vine Pinot Noir material growing on Rippon. It's the wine that year in, year out delivers the clearest picture of what happened on this small patch of land during that growing year.
It's invariably a beautiful wine. Elegant and beautifully poised, this is usually a softer spoken style of Pinot Noir than the more rugged Tinker's Field.
The 2017 received a mammoth 99 points from Nick Stock placing it amongst the finest Pinot Noirs on the planet, according to Stock and James Suckling.
Lovingly grown, expertly crafted, it's no wonder this is one of the more unique Pinot Noirs of the famous Central Otago region.

"This is very elegant, well formed gamay, very beautiful."
Mike Bennie (The Wine Front)
The Avalanche de Printemps is a wine brought to bottle early, built around a concept of vibrancy and freshness.
The grapes come from the South-East section of Delienne's Fleurie vineyard where the soils are a mix of sand and rocky granite. This combination of soils, along with the gentle extraction of tannin and colour in the cellar by Marc's hand, yields a wine with an intoxicating perfume and finesse.
Bouyant, expressive, pulsating with energy, it's these kind of wines that are driving people back to Beaujolais in such a big way at the moment.

The Massolino Barolo is a blend of cru vineyards across Serralunga that makes a snapshot of the vintage told through the lens of Nebbiolo.
It's a very important wine to the family, heralding the quality of their elite single vineyard Baroli and it is considered by many as something of touchstone of quality for the region.
It's a classically styled wine, all red fruits and florals with well settled acidity. It also carries with it the Massolino signature clarity and definition, making it a wine that looks its best with a little time to sleep in the bottle.
The 2016 vintage is considered one of the great harvests in memory. If you were ever going to take the plunge, this Barolo from this vintage is an excellent wine to do so on.

Adelina are kicking some serious goals as of late. Their stylish packaging, the amazing old vine fruit they utilise, the 'house style' of the wines, all coming up trumps for this Clare Valley duo.
Their Grenache fits squarely in the 'new wave' of Grenache sweeping the Australian wine industry. This is a finer boned expression of Grenache.
The fruit from Block 2 on this stunning 80+-year-old vineyard on their estate is left on skins for 28 days in concrete vats prior to pressing to neutral barrels. This extracts maximum character from the fruit in its purest form. Freshness and age worthiness reign supreme here.

"Beautiful. Memorable. Wonderful."
Mike Bennie (The Wine Front)
The Yarra Yering Dry Red No.1 is comprised of predominantly Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot with small parcels of Malbec and Petit Verdot from one of the great sites of the Yarra Valley.
The individual parcels are fermented in small open-top tea-chest fermenters, the final blend crafted to showcase each individual season on this iconic Yarra Valley estate.
This is a glorious wine, a benchmark of the famous Yarra Valley Cabernet wine style.
It's a wine destined for great things. The 2018 is an excellent vintage for more robust red wines. Winemaker Sarah Crowe knocked this out of the park. It should be an essential part of any serious Australian cellar.

"A stellar wine on a stellar run."
Mike Bennie (The Wine Front)
The Ravensworth Shiraz Viognier has become one of the most sought after wines in Canberra, owner/winemaker Bryan Martin now consistently producing a wine of glorious complexity from his home grown fruit.
Bryan's Shiraz is Northern Rhone Valley inspired, with a splash of co-fermented Viognier adding perfume and mouthfeel to what is a remarkable Shiraz. Given Bryan Martin's day-job as assistant winemaker at Clonakilla where he, alongside Tim Kirk, produces Australia's foremost Shiraz Viognier, it comes as no surprise to see this wine reach such great heights.
The 2019 looks sensational once again. With no 2020 vintage made due to bushfires, this is the last chance to snap some up for the next two years. If you fancy cool climate Shiraz then this is simply a must for your cellar and/or dinner table. Exceptional value.
