2025 Cobaw Ridge Lagrein
Cobaw Ridge Lagrein is one of the most singular red wines made anywhere in Australia. Alan and Nelly Cooper planted vines on their granite slope in the Macedon Ranges back in the late '80s, and most thought they were mad. Well, who's mad now?
Lagrein comes from the mountains of northern Italy, and it's still a real rarity here. Up at around 610 metres it has found a genuine home. The Coopers farm it biodynamically and make it with a natural, hands-off approach. The 2025 comes in at just 12% alcohol, which tells you a lot about the cool, high site.
It's fragrant and medium weight, with dark cherry, sour plum, aniseed, a dusting of smoked paprika and plenty of alpine herbs. There's real grip from the tannins, a nod to its Italian heritage, but bright, mouthwatering acidity keeps it fresh and moving, and the finish goes on and on.

2025 Cobaw Ridge High Density Pinot Noir
Just two barrels. That's all Cobaw Ridge made of the 2025 High Density Pinot Noir, and James Suckling's team has called it an exceptional bottling at 96 points. It comes from a tiny block of closely planted vines on the Coopers' granite hillside in the Macedon Ranges.
Alan and Nelly Cooper have farmed this cool, high site for more than three decades. Their certified biodynamic approach and hands-on care have made Cobaw Ridge one of Victoria's most individual small producers. Planting the vines tight together makes them compete, so they dig deep and naturally crop low. You taste that concentration here.
The 2025 is darker and a touch more brooding than you might expect from Macedon. Think ripe cherry and wild raspberry, a floral lift of violets and rose, then clove, Asian spice and a savoury, almost gamey edge, all sitting over that crushed-rock granite feel. The tannins are sinewy and firm, and the acidity keeps it taut and long.
Serious, characterful Macedon Pinot from a grower who knows every vine on the place, and made in tiny quantities. Grab it while you can.

2025 Cobaw Ridge Original Block Pinot Noir
Cobaw Ridge is one of the true pioneers of the Macedon Ranges. Alan and Nelly Cooper planted their high, cool hillside site back in 1985, long before the region was on most people's radar. They've since become known for biodynamic farming and for taking on some of the most challenging growing conditions Australian wine with a natural bent. And killing it, might I add.
The Original Block is exactly what it sounds like - fruit from the first Pinot Noir vines planted at the property in 1995. Thirty years on, those vines give a wine with real grip and presence, the kind of Pinot that rewards a bit of paitence.
The 2025 is perfumed and a little less tannic than the High Density but no less cellar-worthy. Cherry, spice, the mineral thing that sings Cobaw Ridge. It's so good but so distinctive in style.
One of the Macedon's founding families behind it, this is an excellent Pinot from the Cooper family.

2025 Cobaw Ridge Syrah
Cobaw Ridge was farming organically and biodynamically in the Macedon Ranges long before it was fashionable, and the Cooper family's stubbornly individual approach is paying off in a big way. Their Syrah is one of the most distinctive cool-climate versions of the grape in the country - wild, savoury and unmistakably from a cold, high place.
Alan and Nelly Cooper planted their small vineyard on granite in the Cobaw Ranges back in the '80s, in one of the coolest corners of the region. It's still hands-on and chemical-free, with the winemaking kept simple so the site does the talking.
The 2025 is darker and deeper than you might expect from such a cool spot, with blackberry, plum and a hit of pepper and spice, plus that gamey, slightly feral edge that makes Cobaw so interesting. Medium to full in weight, it glides along before the dry, stony tannins grab hold.
Finesse, purity and a wild streak, this is legit cool-climate Aussie Syrah from a great individual producer.

Most wine retailers list at a single-bottle price and then discount 10–15% when you buy six or twelve. We've taken the opposite approach. Since the overwhelming majority of our orders are already 6 bottles or more, our list price is set for the case buyer from the start. There's no inflated single-bottle price to discount down from.
What that means for you:
- One price, same for everyone — no minimum to hit to unlock the best rate
- No mixed-six gymnastics to qualify for a discount
- Our single-bottle price is typically at or below a traditional retailer's by-the-dozen rate
