Agricola Vintners, helmed by Callum Powell, represents a new chapter in the Powell family's storied history in the Barossa Valley. After making a name for himself alongside his father, Dave Powell of Torbreck fame, Callum has ventured out to create his own legacy. Drawing from his family’s vineyards and the renowned Hoffmann sites, Callum produces wines that offer a contemporary take on the Barossa’s rich winemaking traditions.
Callum’s journey began in his childhood, immersed in the world of winemaking. From chasing mice in Torbreck’s early days to gaining invaluable experience with luminaries like Jean-Louis Chave in the Rhône Valley, his path has been shaped by both heritage and innovation. His time in Europe instilled a deep respect for terroir, which he brings back to his work in Barossa and Eden Valleys.
At Agricola, Callum focuses on Shiraz, crafting wines that reflect the unique characteristics of their variuous ancient vineyards. His winemaking philosophy is all about minimal intervention, aiming to let the fruit express itself without heavy oak influence. These are complex, well-structured wines with vibrant flavours and a true sense of place.

2025 Agricola Flaxman Valley Naimanya & Home Shiraz
The Agricola home base. Naimanya and Home are Callum Powell's own elevated, rocky Flaxman Valley sites, and this wine has been at the heart of the Agricola range since the beginning. The vines are very old, the altitude is high, and the wines have always shown it.
Where Seeliger is bright and perfumed, this is more inward and structural. A cooler, tighter expression of Barossa Shiraz that sits firmly in the new wave camp, with the kind of medium-weight, tannin-driven elegance that the likes of Sami Odi and Standish have made their calling card. The 2025 season's early, dry harvest and low yields have only added to the intensity and the natural acidity that gives these wines their line.
It's a wine that asks for patience rather than immediate gratification. Perfumed and mineral on the nose, with a serious, sinewy structure on the palate and a long, savoury finish. The tannins are the headline, fine and persistent, lending the wine real shape and cellar potential. Not a wine for those wanting classic big Barossa fruit; very much a wine for those who aren't.

2025 Agricola Flaxman Valley Seeliger Shiraz
A brand new wine from a century-old site. Callum Powell was reacquainted with Chris and Anthony Steinert's vineyard in the southern Flaxman Valley just before the 2025 harvest, and the result is the first release under the Seeliger label, named after the Steinert family ancestors who planted these dry-grown vines more than 100 years ago.
The site sits on a hillside in Flaxman Valley and produces something distinctly different to Agricola's other Shiraz sources. Brighter, more elevated in feel, with a cool character that sets it apart from the warmer, denser styles the Barossa is traditionally known for. The 2025 season was early and dry, with low yields building real concentration and a natural acidity that gives the wine its line and energy.
This is a perfumed, elegant Shiraz with a cool-climate alpine quality that feels very much of its place. Fine, precise tannins and a long, focused finish. It's very much in the mould of the new wave Barossa makers Callum draws inspiration from, and it's an exceptional debut.

2025 Agricola K' Sands Shiraz
Some of these vines were planted in 1864. Asbroek's plot is one of the most extraordinary old vine sites in the Barossa, with the ancient plantings blended alongside vines that are a mere fifty years old. K' Sands has always been the most singular and demanding wine in the Agricola range, and the 2025 is the most serious expression of it yet.
The dry, concentrated 2025 season has amplified what this vineyard does naturally: depth, intensity and a tannic grip that is serious and uncompromising. This is Shiraz that operates at the outer limits of the variety, with an exotic, almost cross-varietal character that Callum has leaned into rather than tried to tame. It's unlike most things you'll taste from the Barossa.
Dark, dense and rich on the palate, with firm, structured tannins and real length. A wine of considerable power and presence, and one of the finest Barossa Shiraz you're likely to try. Cellar this.

2025 Agricola Ebenezer Shiraz
The most classically Barossa wine in the Agricola range. The Hoffman Dallwitz vines in Ebenezer date back to 1888, with some plantings through to 1912 and a smaller parcel from 1996. It's a vineyard with real heritage, and Callum works with it accordingly.
Where the Flaxman Valley wines are about restraint and elevation, Ebenezer is warm, generous and unambiguously Barossa. The difference here is that it's done without the props many have leaned on: no new oak dominating the fruit, no added acid sharpening the edges. Just old vine concentration and honest winemaking, which turns out to be all you need.
Rich, heady and full of character, with a depth and warmth that feels completely of its place. The 2025 dry season has concentrated the fruit and built real tannic structure beneath the generosity. This is a wine that rewards those who appreciate what the Barossa does when it's at its best.

No, all prices are set at the full discounted dozen rate already.
Most wine retailers list at a single-bottle price and then discount 10–15% when you buy six or twelve. We've taken the opposite approach. Since the overwhelming majority of our orders are already 6 bottles or more, our list price is set for the case buyer from the start. There's no inflated single-bottle price to discount down from.
What that means for you:
- One price, same for everyone — no minimum to hit to unlock the best rate
- No mixed-six gymnastics to qualify for a discount
- Our single-bottle price is typically at or below a traditional retailer's by-the-dozen rate
Put simply: the box discount is already baked into the price.
