Description

Tim Smith has been making wine in the Barossa for more than 20 years and is well regarded as one of the best value small-scale producers in the region. This bargain little white blend is a prime example of why - it's the Rhone Valley meets the Barossa Valley at under $30 a bottle.

The Bugalugs Blanc brings together Grenache Blanc, Marsanne and Roussanne - three Rhône varieties that do well in the Barossa’s warm days and cool nights.

The 2025 vintage is a clean, textural white that tastes of pears, citrus and a little spice, with gentle grip through the finish. It’s made as a wine that Tim wants to drink every day (and so do we!), with wild fermentation, a short rest on lees for texture, and bottled nice and fresh.

If you like a dry whites with shape and flavour but none of the oak heaviness, this one will hit the mark. It’s easy to drink, works with food, and shows why Tim Smith’s wines have built such a loyal following.

"Serious white wine with beautiful texture, deft balance and drinkability."

96 points - "A blend of grenache blanc, marsanne and roussanne. Nashi pear, custard apple, waxed lemon rind, jasmine and dried chamomile. You live or die by how you handle phenolics in a wine like this, and Smith is a master. There’s a firm phenolic grip, but it’s the kind that guides not strangles. Serious white wine with beautiful texture, deft balance and drinkability." - Nick Ryan (The Australian)

Refreshment plus!

Great fruit weight and mouthfeel for a wine at this price.

Quite an interesting drink and should age well over the short term too.

A textural blend of Grenache Blanc, Marsanne and Roussanne. Don’t think too much about the individual varieties though, think Friday night and a crisp white. Unashamedly influenced by my love of the Rhone Valley. This year’s release shows great lifted aromatics of nashi pear, spice and a lovely textural palate. Pairs well with friends, food and the weekend.

No, feel free to mix it up! There is no minimum requirement. You can order wines in any quantity or combination, 1 or 50+ bottles.

No, all prices are set at the full discounted dozen rate already.

Most wine retailers list at a single-bottle price and then discount 10–15% when you buy six or twelve. We've taken the opposite approach. Since the overwhelming majority of our orders are already 6 bottles or more, our list price is set for the case buyer from the start. There's no inflated single-bottle price to discount down from.

What that means for you:

- One price, same for everyone — no minimum to hit to unlock the best rate
- No mixed-six gymnastics to qualify for a discount
- Our single-bottle price is typically at or below a traditional retailer's by-the-dozen rate

Put simply: the box discount is already baked into the price.

**And if you find it cheaper elsewhere?** Let us know. If the same wine is available at a lower price at another retailer (including at their mixed-six or by-the-dozen rate) we're happy to match it.

If you can't add more wine to your cart it means we are low on stock of that wine. For example, if you are only able to 3 bottles and no more that means we only have 3 bottles left of that wine. If it's a must have, please contact us and we may be able to order more in for you.
