The Other Wine Co is the space where the Shaw + Smith team gets to play around with alternative varieties, and this second release of their Sangiovese hits the brief perfectly. Sourced from the cool, high ground of the Mount Lofty Ranges, it takes the savoury, structural bones of the variety and wraps them in a bright, modern package.
They used a mix of whole berries and whole bunches in the ferment to dial up the aromatics, then aged the wine in a combination of large neutral oak and stainless steel. It’s a gentle approach that ensures the wine retains its clarity and crunch without getting bogged down by oak.
In the glass, it is lively and fresh, loaded with wild strawberries, juicy blue fruits and a distinct floral lift. But it isn't just a fruit bomb - there is a proper savoury edge here with hints of bay leaf and spice. True to the variety, the tannins are firm and grippy, backed by a line of fresh acidity that keeps everything snappy. It is made to be drunk young, but it has the structure to handle a serious meal.

We stock three different sized gift boxes (single, three bottle and six), all are available for purchase for a flat rate of $8. They look great and make an awesome impression.
To add a gift box to your order, simply add at checkout. The special requests box is your friend, please give us as many details of what you are looking for and we will try our best, or get in contact to discuss it with you.

Our warehouse is automated so unless you tell us otherwise, we will ship your order. No, all prices are set at the full discounted dozen rate already.
If you can't add more wine to your cart it means we are low on stock of that wine. For example, if you are only able to 3 bottles and no more that means we only have 3 bottles left of that wine. If it's a must have, please contact us and we may be able to order more in for you.
