Description

Those that have ever tasted the exquisite wines from the Clonakilla stable should know that most of them, were at one point, made by the hands of Ravensworth owner/winemaker/butcher/purveyor of smoked meats, Bryan Martin.

The Ravensworth project is a chance for him to captain his own ship. The wines are some of the best value in the country.

"This is a savoury-leaning yet scintillating riesling... At $32 RRP this is ludicrously interesting and good, and willingly steps out of rote winemaking to do so. Kudos."
- Mike Bennie (The Wine Front)

This is a scintillating expression of Riesling. Nothing fancy (apart from a small component made in ceramic egg). Just amazing fruit made with a gentle and precise touch. This sits right alongside the best Rieslings in the Canberra region.

The demand for Bryan's wines escalates every year, and with great-value wines like this coming from him so consistently, it's no wonder.

"It's delicate, floral and spicy with loads of citrus. Palate carries plenty of flavour with a nice balancing texture from the extended lees contact and from the various vessels with use: Ceramic, Concrete and foudre. A slightly different take on the normal riesling."
- Bryan Martin

94 points - "This is a savoury-leaning yet scintillating riesling. It doesn’t scrimp on pickled lime, preserved lemon, ginger, lemongrass and green apple scents and then relays the same in concentrated flavours. Green almond calls in, a little jalapeno and white balsamic lift too. Intense, vibrant, exceptional persistence and heaps of character. At $32 RRP this is ludicrously interesting and good, and willingly steps out of rote winemaking to do so. Kudos." - Mike Bennie (The Wine Front)

A gentle yet layered Riesling

I personally don't like Riesling that is too clean/too acidic. This one really works with my palette - gently and beautifully reveals the layers of goodness. Delicious.

Awesome Riesling

We drank this last weekend at catch up with friends. It was nicely chilled, crisp with the right level of acidity and went perfectly with our pizzas. Our dinner companion, a diehard fiano lover, was very impressed and sounds like he’ll be visiting your site to order some for himself! Will definitely include this again in our next order. Thank you!

tasty but safe

beautifully made wine, good acidity, well balanced but perhaps a little too classic in style..

Disappointing

I have been a big fan of Ravensworth and their wines previously - the Sangiovese is a knock out. This Riesling however was super disappointing, lacking in body, watery and a certain tartness that reminded me of unripe Granny Smith apples. Better options around at a much lower price.

Out this month, our dry, textural super aromatic riesling.
Sourced from 4 local vineyards, including our own this year.

It's delicate, floral and spicy with loads of citrus. Palate carries plenty of flavour with a nice balancing texture from the extended lees contact and from the various vessels with use: Ceramic, Concrete and foudre.

A slightly different take on the normal riesling.

Ravensworth

Bryan Martin is one of the most creative and inquisitive winemakers we've ever met. After leaving his position as winemaker alongside Tim Kirk at Canberra regional flagbearer, Clonakilla, Bryan went full steam in on his own label Ravensworth, which has firmly hit cult status amongst collectors.

He and his wife Jocelyn have a beautiful property outside of Murrumbateman which is home to all of their excellent Estate wines and Bryan also searches surrounding vineyards and out to the Hilltops region to compile his excellent value Regional series of wines. Sustainability and an unwavering commitment to quality across the board underpin the entire operation at Ravensworth. Perhaps best known for his benchmark Shiraz Viognier and textural Rieslings, Bryan is also arguably the country's best producer of Sangiovese and is a true master of the dark art of skin-contact whites.

Bryan embodies everything we love about small artisanal Australian producers. He is humble, irreverent, committed to the pursuit of excellence and always looking to explore. Quite simply, if you see a Ravensworth wine anywhere, you should buy it.

No, feel free to mix it up! There is no minimum requirement. You can order wines in any quantity or combination, 1 or 50+ bottles.

No, all prices are set at the full discounted dozen rate already.

Most wine retailers list at a single-bottle price and then discount 10–15% when you buy six or twelve. We've taken the opposite approach. Since the overwhelming majority of our orders are already 6 bottles or more, our list price is set for the case buyer from the start. There's no inflated single-bottle price to discount down from.

What that means for you:

- One price, same for everyone β€” no minimum to hit to unlock the best rate
- No mixed-six gymnastics to qualify for a discount
- Our single-bottle price is typically at or below a traditional retailer's by-the-dozen rate

Put simply: the box discount is already baked into the price.

**And if you find it cheaper elsewhere?** Let us know. If the same wine is available at a lower price at another retailer (including at their mixed-six or by-the-dozen rate) we're happy to match it.

If you can't add more wine to your cart it means we are low on stock of that wine. For example, if you are only able to 3 bottles and no more that means we only have 3 bottles left of that wine. If it's a must have, please contact us and we may be able to order more in for you.
