Description

Matt Large’s fascination with Nebbiolo finds another outlet in Stolen Moments, a rosato given the time and attention usually reserved for a more serious red. It’s a natural extension of Praeter’s original focus, putting the grape’s perfume, acidity and tannin to work in a different style.

Fruit comes from Kersbrook and Talc Hill in the Adelaide Hills. Kersbrook contributes a fuller middle palate, while the cooler, higher Talc Hill site brings freshness and structure.

Twelve hours on skins draws out colour and a little tannin before pressing into old French oak for wild fermentation. Natural malolactic fermentation and twelve months on lees in barrel, followed by three months in tank, build texture and savoury depth.

Strawberry and rose notes sit alongside apple and gentle spice, with juicy fruit balanced by a firm, dry finish. Rated 95 points by The Wine Front, this is a rosato whose Nebbiolo character and extended ageing give it plenty to offer at the dinner table.

95 points
"Fabulous wine. Yes please and then some… It has tension, texture and drive but it’s also juicy and more-ish. Great gear."
- Campbell Mattinson (The Wine Front)

95 points - "Rosé made with Adelaide Hills nebbiolo. Fabulous wine. Yes please and then some. Flavours of strawberry, roses, toffee apples, apple core and myriad sweet/roasted spice notes. It has tension, texture and drive but it’s also juicy and more-ish. Great gear." - Campbell Mattinson (The Wine Front)

Vineyard
Nebbiolo from both the Kersbook Vineyard and Talc Hill Vineyard in the Adelaide Hills.

Winemaking
The grapes were destemmed and left to soak for 12 hours to extract colour and tannin. They were then pressed and the cloudy juice racked to old French oak barriques for wild fermentation. The wine then underwent spontaneous malolactic fermentation, before being left on lees in barrel for 12 months and tank for a further 3 months in order to allow the wine to build texture and complexity.

The Wine
The 2025 release sees the melding of the mid-palate weight of the Kersbrook Vineyard, and the structure and acidity from the cooler, higher Talc Hill Vineyard. The wine has been given time and space to build savouriness and depth, whilst carrying the hallmark tannin and firm acid of the variety.

No, feel free to mix it up! There is no minimum requirement. You can order wines in any quantity or combination, 1 or 50+ bottles.

No, all prices are set at the full discounted dozen rate already.

Most wine retailers list at a single-bottle price and then discount 10–15% when you buy six or twelve. We've taken the opposite approach. Since the overwhelming majority of our orders are already 6 bottles or more, our list price is set for the case buyer from the start. There's no inflated single-bottle price to discount down from.

What that means for you:

- One price, same for everyone — no minimum to hit to unlock the best rate
- No mixed-six gymnastics to qualify for a discount
- Our single-bottle price is typically at or below a traditional retailer's by-the-dozen rate

Put simply: the box discount is already baked into the price.

**And if you find it cheaper elsewhere?** Let us know. If the same wine is available at a lower price at another retailer (including at their mixed-six or by-the-dozen rate) we're happy to match it.

If you can't add more wine to your cart it means we are low on stock of that wine. For example, if you are only able to 3 bottles and no more that means we only have 3 bottles left of that wine. If it's a must have, please contact us and we may be able to order more in for you.
