Description
If the 'Home' Pinot is the calm, this is the storm. The label features Taras strapped to a chair with a TV taped to his head - artwork from his old punk band, Kranktus - and the wine inside matches that energy perfectly. It represents the "flip side of the coin," selected from the most intense, rustic parcels of Pinot the vintage.
Amber went with 60% whole bunch and 14 days on skins here to really ramp up the texture. It’s darker and broodier than the other Pinots in the stable. You get notes of dark cherry and earth, but it’s that distinctive "gunpowder" reduction that really defines it.
The team describes the tannins as having the texture of "Southern Ocean surf beach sand", which paints a pretty clear picture. With only 633 bottles made, it’s a rare, visceral look at the wilder side of Pinot in the Hills.
