Based high up in the Basket Range of the Adelaide Hills, Ochota Barrels has become renowned globally for consistently producing some of the best wines of the Australian new wave.
The Control Voltage +5VOV is the best Chardonnay in the lineup - it represents the absolute pick of the litter, a tiny selection of Amber's favourite micro-parcels from the vintage. It’s the result of days of tasting and re-tasting to find the perfect balance of the blend. And with only 425 bottles produced this year, it is vanishingly rare.
The fruit was handpicked in mid-March and pressed with full solids straight to Burgundian barriques. The real secret sauce here is the weekly batonnage (lees stirring). It builds this insane texture that layers right over the fruit. You get rich notes of brioche and white peach, maybe a hint of green melon, but it’s that savoury, creamy weight and the bit of sulphide funk that grabs you. It feels substantial and "worked" but keeps a mouthwatering acid line that stops it from feeling heavy.
It’s sophisticated, complex and honestly, it’s gone almost as soon as it lands. If you see a bottle, don't overthink it.

We stock three different sized gift boxes (single, three bottle and six), all are available for purchase for a flat rate of $8. They look great and make an awesome impression.

If you can't add more wine to your cart it means we are low on stock of that wine. For example, if you are only able to 3 bottles and no more that means we only have 3 bottles left of that wine. If it's a must have, please contact us and we may be able to order more in for you.
