Description

Pinot Gris here by the hands of the talented winemaker, Nick Spencer.

Nick loves the NSW High Country, so for this wine, he goes to a high-altitude vineyard in the Hilltops region.

The cool conditions during vintage have produced crisp, elegant Pinot Gris with a beautiful mouthfeel.

It's dry, crunchy and very pretty in style. A delicious look at Pinot Gris from one of NSW most exciting emerging producers.

Best Pinot Gris on the market

I adore this Pinot Gris - crisp and light but with enough oomph. An absolute winner for all occasions, whether to open for just a drink or with a meal

Pinot Gris/ Pinot Grigio is a white grape variety thought to be mutant clone of the Pinot Noir variety. The variety has skins with a pinkish / grey hue which accounts for it name.

Tasting Notes

The Pinot Gris displays ripe pear and stone fruit characters along with subtle white flower aromas. The palate is rich and intense but balanced with refreshing acidity and a long finish.

Food & Serving Suggestions

Perhaps the most versatile of any wine when it comes to matching with food. Thanks his particular style of Pinot Gris lends itself to Asian cuisine such as curries, stirfrys, noodles, dumplings etc.

Vineyard Information

The fruit is grown on A vineyard in Prunevale in the Hilltops region of NSW. The vineyard sits at about 600m/ asl on decomposed granite soils.

Winemaking

The fruit is lightly pressed directly to stainless steel for fermentation and bottled young to retain freshness.

Nick Spencer Wines

Nick Spencer is one of NSW's most decorated winemakers. Over the span of more than two decades, he has become perhaps the state's most outspoken advocate for the potential of the regions of the NSW High Country, in particular, Tumbarumba and Gundagai.

Nick's wines exemplify balance, style, immense drinkability and exceptional value for money. As his label has expanded, his winemaking has become more adventurous, now incorporating the use of amphora, sulphur-free bottlings and a more stripped-back winemaking style to highlight the quality of the fruit that these lesser-known NSW regions can produce.

He is one of the most important producers in NSW today and is the touchstone of quality for the state.
