Description
Joshua Cooper’s 2025 Regional Release Chardonnay is another banger from one of the true superstar producers in Victoria.
Sourced entirely from the weathered granite slopes of Dash Farms, it actually shares the exact same DNA as his upcoming single-vineyard release, but it is made with earlier drinking in mind. He gave the fruit a slightly longer pressing and aged it in a mix of old French oak and stainless steel to keep the focus firmly on the fruit and texture rather than the barrel.
This is classy, ready to rip Chardonnay. The palate is sharp and focused, showing bright citrus and faint green almond. Despite that precision, it carries a really nice, finely textured mouthfeel that coats the palate and lingers on the finish without feeling heavy or overworked.
It is a beautiful, highly drinkable Chardonnay to open right now, but it has the concentration and shape to comfortably handle some medium-term cellaring if you want to hold onto it.
