Description

The Grace Madeline is Cullen’s take on the classic Margaret River white blend - Sauvignon Blanc and Semillon from the original 1976 estate plantings, farmed biodynamically and handled with minimal intervention. The wine is named after Vanya Cullen’s grandmother, and like the rest of the Cullen range, it’s all about purity of fruit and a light hand in the cellar.

Picked across a handful of fruit and flower days, the Sauvignon was fermented wild in a mix of barriques and concrete egg, with a portion spending time on skins to build texture and shape. The Semillon was fermented in tank to keep things fresh and focused. There’s no additions along the way, just time and patience, and it shows in the detail.

It’s bright and layered with a gentle grip that carries the wine through, finishing clean and long. Delicious now, but built to evolve.

"As is the way with this classy wine, it’s textural, complex and layered... Youthful and lovely today but will garner more complexity in time."
- Jane Faulkner (Halliday Wine Companion)

95 points - "The final blend comes out at 74/26% sauvignon blanc/semillon, and all up aged six months in oak, 58% new. As is the way with this classy wine, it’s textural, complex and layered. Smoky, waxy, with a hint of lanolin, some quince paste and preserved lemon. And so savoury. The palate is refined with talc-like acidity and neat phenolics, so it’s moreish to the last drop. Youthful and lovely today but will garner more complexity in time." - Jane Faulkner (Halliday Wine Companion)

94 points - "The 2025 Grace Madeline comprises 74% Sauvignon Blanc and 26% Semillon, both varieties grown in the Cullen vineyard in Wilyabrup in Margaret River. Aromatically, the wine leads with white flowers and lemongrass, green apple and brine. There's something attractively edgy here too—fino or salted preserved lemons and the like. In the mouth, the wine is fleshy and spicy, with warm baking spices, cracked fennel seed, white pepper and green olive tapenade. It's fleshier and wider than vintages prior but tethered to the DNA of the vineyard and house style. It's very good indeed. 13.1% alcohol, sealed under screw cap." - Erin Larkin (The Wine Advocate)

94 points - "Light straw colour; savoury aromas of nutty barrel work with straw, cured hay and lightly toasted cashews. In the mouth, it's medium bodied and very dry, again a savoury suite of flavours and none of the greener notes of these varieties in this region. Some spiciness builds on the palate with repeat sips. Very good intensity, weight and persistence, and a clean and appetising fnish. A smart blend that promises to show more detail if given some more time in the bottle." - Huon Hooke (The Real Review)

94 points - "A juicy yet waxy offering here, a textural white wine of interest and deliciousness. Almost a skinsy grip to texture, pleasingly so, as an additional comment. Very fragrant with green pear, lime, ginger, sea spray, faint cedar and some cut grass and alpine herb notes in the mix. It drives well and yet knows how to be drinkable and kind of laid back for a young wine. More of the profile of the bouquet to taste, a little brown skin pear through the finish lingering. Classy wine." - Mike Bennie (The Wine Front)

This wine is named after Grace Madeline, Diana Madeline’s mother. Grace, originally from London, lived most of her life in Tasmania and was a suffragette, who loved nature as well as being mother to three daughters.

Grace Madeline wine is a blend of Sauvignon Blanc and Semillon, planted on their own roots in 1976 on Cullen Estate. These vines are certified biodynamic and carbon neutral.

Cullen

The Cullen property has been in the Cullen family since 1948 with founders Diana Madeline and Kevin John planting the first vines on the farm in 1971.

Today Cullen sits as one of the top estates in Margaret River. Their impeccable versions of Chardonnay and Cabernet Sauvignon are now both considered clear regional benchmarks.

The Cullen estate is farmed with a strict adherence to the principals of biodynamic farming. Current day owner and winemaker Vanya Cullen is one of the most outspoken advocates of the benefits of these practices in the industry and her results speak for themselves.

These are extraordinary wines that hold their own against the world's best. A gem of the Australian wine scene, to be sure.

No, feel free to mix it up! There is no minimum requirement. You can order wines in any quantity or combination, 1 or 50+ bottles.

No, all prices are set at the full discounted dozen rate already.

Most wine retailers list at a single-bottle price and then discount 10–15% when you buy six or twelve. We've taken the opposite approach. Since the overwhelming majority of our orders are already 6 bottles or more, our list price is set for the case buyer from the start. There's no inflated single-bottle price to discount down from.

What that means for you:

- One price, same for everyone — no minimum to hit to unlock the best rate
- No mixed-six gymnastics to qualify for a discount
- Our single-bottle price is typically at or below a traditional retailer's by-the-dozen rate

Put simply: the box discount is already baked into the price.

**And if you find it cheaper elsewhere?** Let us know. If the same wine is available at a lower price at another retailer (including at their mixed-six or by-the-dozen rate) we're happy to match it.

If you can't add more wine to your cart it means we are low on stock of that wine. For example, if you are only able to 3 bottles and no more that means we only have 3 bottles left of that wine. If it's a must have, please contact us and we may be able to order more in for you.
