Description

Rob and Genevieve Mann at Corymbia have become the benchmark for modern WA Chenin. This is an excellent Swan Valley white; it’s a focused, dry-grown powerhouse from the Mann family's "Rocket’s Vineyard". Named after Rob’s dad, the legendary Test cricketer Tony “Rocket” Mann, this site was hand-planted by the father-son duo over thirty years ago and has never looked better.

The 2025 release is all about tension and freshness. Despite the Swan Valley heat, the fruit retains a crunch that’s hard to find elsewhere. Wild yeast, a bit of old oak, and plenty of time on lees but this simple recipe delivers a wine with massive personality. It’s got classic Chenin waxiness, but it’s the saline, sea-spray finish that really keeps you hooked.

Expect a wine that’s bright and plush at the same time. It’s packed with green apple and citrus, but there’s a savoury, herbal flicker underneath that screams for food. Whether you’re cracking it fresh at a BBQ or tucking a few away to see the honeyed complexity develop, this is a proper Swan Valley essential.

"Preserved lemons and sorrel leaves, a backseat full of beach towels baking in the sun. Margarita rims and melon rind. A masterclass in building texture in white wine without oiliness or clunky phenolics. A waxy sheen and taut saline seam like the finest flakes of fleur de sel have been sprinkled through. As good as chenin gets."
- Nick Ryan (The Weekend Australian)

"The level of bang for buck here is ludicrous. One of Australia's more complex, exciting textural white wines lays in the glass... An impressive wine of detail in fruit, florals, minerality and yet one that holds attention for high-end drinkability, too."

95+ points - "The level of bang for buck here is ludicrous. One of Australia's more complex, exciting textural white wines lays in the glass. Catch it in its youth for the crystalline texture, the sea spray, green almond, Pink Lady apple juice characters, citrus blossom lift, cool, slate-like mineral finish and rush of slippery texture that feels glassy as it does gently sticky. An impressive wine of detail in fruit, florals, minerality and yet one that holds attention for high-end drinkability, too." - Mike Bennie (Halliday Wine Companion)

94 points - "Green pear, apple, a smoky almond thing, a bit saline, also some chamomile and green tea perfume. It’s crisp, has excellent texture, a quiet pear skin and almond grip, some Parmesan rind savoury stuff, with a bright, nutty and juicy finish of very good length offering a powdery grip to close. Very good. Also, quite refreshing. I think maybe the best release of this wine to date?" - Gary Walsh (The Wine Front)

94 points - "The 2025 Chenin Blanc is waxy and textural, lithe and fresh. Like so many Chenin Blancs, it is certain not to show its dimensional complexity for several years yet, though drinking it so early in its life gives us a great indication as to the direction it will take in the future. So, aromatically, the wine leads with brine and white flowers, cheesecloth, green apple and cold tea. On the palate, the wine's production rises to the fore. Extended time on the lees and the inclusion of old/neutral French oak enhance the structure and texture of the wine, both of which remain steadfastly invisible, which is a wonderful thing. The 2025 season was warm and dry but saw none of the prolonged heat that was present in the previous 2024 season. As a result, the 2025 wines have been exceptional, particularly those that come from healthy vineyards—as this has—that were able to use the winter of 2024 for reprieve and much needed rest. 12.8% alcohol, sealed under screw cap.

The dry-grown, organic certified Corymbia vineyard—Rocket's vineyard—is situated in Upper Swan, with a dramatic view of the Darling Scarp beyond. The vineyard was planted by Rob Mann and his father, Tony Mann (a.k.a. Rocket), in 1992 on Houghton loam soils. The Chenin Blanc vines are a massal selection called the Eric Noack selection, planted at a density of 1,540 vines per hectare. The wine has 12.8% alcohol, a pH of 3.33 and 6.3 grams per liter of total acidity." - Erin Larkin (The Wine Advocate)

Customer Reviews

Our eighth release of Rocket’s Vineyard Chenin Blanc! We dedicate our single vineyard Swan Valley wines to Rob’s late father and former Australian Test Cricketer Tony “Rocket” Mann. With a lightening arm, Tony was well known to “rocket” the ball in from the outfield to hit middle stump. Aside from cricket, Tony loved wine. An old currant vineyard caught his eye, which he quickly transformed into a Chenin Blanc oasis, with Rob, 33 years ago.

Our organically farmed grapes were harvested by hand and whole bunch pressed. The juice was fermented with indigenous yeasts in a stainless-steel tank and seasoned French oak barriques. The wine was then left on its yeast lees through winter and then bottled just in time for spring.

The wine is all energy and texture – honey dew melon, pink lady apple, grapefruit and lemon sabayon wrapped in a waxy, saline frame. There’s a flicker of fennel, a hint of citrus blossom and that unmistakable Rocket’s crystalline clarity we know and love. Drink it young for its freshness and verve or let it rest for a few years to unfurl. This will partner those prawns on the barbie and crayfish sandwiches beautifully.

No, feel free to mix it up! There is no minimum requirement. You can order wines in any quantity or combination, 1 or 50+ bottles.

No, all prices are set at the full discounted dozen rate already.

Most wine retailers list at a single-bottle price and then discount 10–15% when you buy six or twelve. We've taken the opposite approach. Since the overwhelming majority of our orders are already 6 bottles or more, our list price is set for the case buyer from the start. There's no inflated single-bottle price to discount down from.

What that means for you:

- One price, same for everyone — no minimum to hit to unlock the best rate
- No mixed-six gymnastics to qualify for a discount
- Our single-bottle price is typically at or below a traditional retailer's by-the-dozen rate

Put simply: the box discount is already baked into the price.

**And if you find it cheaper elsewhere?** Let us know. If the same wine is available at a lower price at another retailer (including at their mixed-six or by-the-dozen rate) we're happy to match it.

If you can't add more wine to your cart it means we are low on stock of that wine. For example, if you are only able to 3 bottles and no more that means we only have 3 bottles left of that wine. If it's a must have, please contact us and we may be able to order more in for you.
