Description

When Piero Incisa della Rocchetta decided to plant Chardonnay in Patagonia’s Río Negro Valley, he enlisted the help of Meursault’s Jean-Marc Roulot - a partnership that’s since become one of the most exciting cross-continental projects in modern wine. The fruit for this release comes from 40-year-old vines rooted in alluvial stones covered in calcaire. Everything is farmed organically and biodynamically.

The 2025 is intense and energetic - the style is taut and mineral-driven, with citrus and white fruit at its core, subtle floral lift, and a fine, chalky line through the palate. Fermentation and maturation are split 20% concrete eggs, 15% stainless steel, and the remainder new and used French oak, aged for 10 months.

Production is tiny and allocations even smaller. It’s a distinctive, precise Chardonnay that captures both Patagonia’s natural freshness and Roulot’s finesse.

"Wow. This is really complex, with sliced apples, lemons, flint, stones and a hint of limes on the nose. It’s floral and aromatic with white flowers. Long, long finish. Complex and thoughtful. Drink or hold."

From 40 year old vines with alluvial stones covered in calcaire. The wine is intense and energetic, high pitched and lively, round and austere, refined and mineral. It has a dry mouthfeel and a saltiness natural to the area. 20% in concrete eggs, 15% in stainless steel & the remainder is new and used french oak for 10 month.

Bodega Chacra

Bodega Chacra is located in the Rio Negro Valley of northern Patagonia, in the dead centre of Argentina.

Founded in 2003 by Piero Incisa della Rocchetta - the grandson of Marchese Mario Incisa della Rocchetta, creator of Sassacaia, one of the monuments of Italian wine. After trying a Patagonian Pinot at a tasting in NYC, Piero began searching for site in the Rio Negro region, a search that bore fruit in the Mainque area. He took over a site with ungrafted vines dating back to 1932, and the development of a world class winery too shape, with a focus on organic and biodynamic viticulture.

He brought legendary Meursault producer Jean-Marc Roulot on board to aid in the planting and vinification of Chardonnay - not a bad advisor! Piero's dedication to producing outstanding Pinot Noir and Chardonnay was rewarded when Chacra Treinta y Dos Pinot 2018 was named Best Wine in the World by James Suckling.

No, feel free to mix it up! There is no minimum requirement. You can order wines in any quantity or combination, 1 or 50+ bottles.

No, all prices are set at the full discounted dozen rate already.

Most wine retailers list at a single-bottle price and then discount 10–15% when you buy six or twelve. We've taken the opposite approach. Since the overwhelming majority of our orders are already 6 bottles or more, our list price is set for the case buyer from the start. There's no inflated single-bottle price to discount down from.

What that means for you:

- One price, same for everyone — no minimum to hit to unlock the best rate
- No mixed-six gymnastics to qualify for a discount
- Our single-bottle price is typically at or below a traditional retailer's by-the-dozen rate

Put simply: the box discount is already baked into the price.

**And if you find it cheaper elsewhere?** Let us know. If the same wine is available at a lower price at another retailer (including at their mixed-six or by-the-dozen rate) we're happy to match it.

If you can't add more wine to your cart it means we are low on stock of that wine. For example, if you are only able to 3 bottles and no more that means we only have 3 bottles left of that wine. If it's a must have, please contact us and we may be able to order more in for you.
