Description

The second half of Col and Jen's brilliant Clare Valley pigeon-pair, the Polish Hill River Riesling is sourced from the Hill River Estate.

Grown by James Meyer and Robert Jaeschke, these 25-year-old vines sit at a high elevation of 460m on a slight southerly aspect. The soils here are defined by grey-brown loam over shale and sandy limestone, which traditionally gives Polish Hill River Rieslings their tightly coiled, mineral-driven backbone.

The fruit is conventionally farmed and harvested in the cool of the morning to lock in its natural freshness. In the winery, the process is incredibly precise: the fruit is destemmed, crushed, and pressed. The Adelina team then fractions the free-run juice, which is settled and fermented cool until it reaches complete dryness.

It's a pretty classic, even demure, Polish Hill River expression - steely, fine, and tightly wound. While it is beautifully pure and refreshing right out of the gate, its driving acidity and mineral core make it a prime candidate for the cellar. If you have the patience, tuck a few bottles away; it will reward you handsomely over the next decade.

Electric polish hill river.

I am a Riesling lover and drink a lot of Riesling through the year. This is the Riesling I kept going back to , due to its enjoyability factor. The wine screams acidity and life with so much lemon lime primary fruits screaming at you. An utterly enjoyable wine for summer or with some great fresh seafood. Drink now or hold for the longer term as this wine has acidity for days on end and will develop wonderfully.

Adelina

Adelina Wines, established by Jennie Gardner and Col McBryde, is situated in the Springfarm Valley of Clare Valley. With vineyards dating back to 1910, the estate includes Shiraz, Grenache, Mataro, Malbec, and a unique field blend. Col and Jennie, both PhDs in microbiology, have transformed the vineyard with organic farming methods, achieving certification in 2020.

Their wines are known for delicacy, purity, and terroir expression, featuring old vine Shiraz and Mataro, exceptional Nebbiolo, and vibrant Rieslings. The 80-year-old Grenache vines produce fine-boned, high-toned wines, while the Shiraz showcases bold flavors and impressive tannins.

Sustainability is central to their approach, with minimal water use, manual weeding, and maintaining native scrub. They are also pursuing carbon-neutral certification. Adelina Wines embodies quality and innovation, offering wines that reflect their unique terroir and sustainable practices.

No, feel free to mix it up! There is no minimum requirement. You can order wines in any quantity or combination, 1 or 50+ bottles.

No, all prices are set at the full discounted dozen rate already.

Most wine retailers list at a single-bottle price and then discount 10–15% when you buy six or twelve. We've taken the opposite approach. Since the overwhelming majority of our orders are already 6 bottles or more, our list price is set for the case buyer from the start. There's no inflated single-bottle price to discount down from.

What that means for you:

- One price, same for everyone β€” no minimum to hit to unlock the best rate
- No mixed-six gymnastics to qualify for a discount
- Our single-bottle price is typically at or below a traditional retailer's by-the-dozen rate

Put simply: the box discount is already baked into the price.

**And if you find it cheaper elsewhere?** Let us know. If the same wine is available at a lower price at another retailer (including at their mixed-six or by-the-dozen rate) we're happy to match it.

If you can't add more wine to your cart it means we are low on stock of that wine. For example, if you are only able to 3 bottles and no more that means we only have 3 bottles left of that wine. If it's a must have, please contact us and we may be able to order more in for you.
