Description

This is Roussanne reimagined - bold, structured, and built for the long haul. Sourced from Yangarra’s oldest Roussanne block, the 2024 Roux Beauté is a masterclass in texture and precision from one of Australia’s most boundary-pushing producers.

Made in just two 675L ceramic eggs, nearly half the wine spent a staggering seven months on skins, giving the finished blend a remarkable palate presence - savoury, grippy and yet beautifully composed. The rest was whole-bunch pressed and naturally fermented in ceramic, adding lift and clarity.

What emerges is a powerful, golden-hued white with layers of baked quince, yellow plum and almond skin, wrapped around a core of fine phenolics and salty freshness. It’s unmistakably Mediterranean in feel, yet very much a Yangarra original, complex, wild, and uncompromisingly detailed.

This is not your average Roussanne but it is one of the country's very best.

"The 2024 Roux Beaute Roussanne is floral and fresh, and the phenolics really help the flavors to penetrate onto the palate. This is already so concentrated and intense but with tightly wound phenolics. This will be a superstar..."
- Erin Larkin (The Wine Advocate)

96 points - "The 2024 Roux Beaute Roussanne hails from a fantastic year in McLaren Vale. Warm and dry, with a healthy lead-in, thanks to the cool 2023 season that preceded it. I was lucky enough to taste a bottle of the 2015 Roux Beaute Roussanne last night at dinner, and the wine was aging so slowly; among some very strong French icon wines, it more than held its own and never wavered from expressing the freshness and detail of this place in McLaren Vale. So here, the 2024 Roux Beaute Roussanne is floral and fresh, and the phenolics really help the flavors to penetrate onto the palate. This is already so concentrated and intense but with tightly wound phenolics. This will be a superstar. It will not be released until May 2026. 14% alcohol, sealed under screw cap." - Erin Larkin (The Wine Advocate)

92 points - "Medium-full colour, gold with a brassy tint. The bouquet is showing early maturity, with toasty development and baked lemon pudding aromas, the palate full and rich, concentrated and ample, with abundant phenolics imparting grip and a hint of bitterness. Full of flavour and personality, it would make the most sense when served with food." - Huon Hooke (The Real Review)

100% Roussanne. Hand-picked from Block 6, our oldest Roussanne planting. A portion is destemmed, crushed, and filled to clayver 675L ceramic eggs. 66% of the final blend was fermented on skins for approximately 4 months. Only the free draining fraction retained. The other portion is whole bunch basket pressed into ceramic and fermented without skins. The blend is exclusively matured in ceramic for a further 2 months. Bottled November 2024.

Yangarra

Yangarra Estate stands as one of the defining properties of the Blewitt Springs sub-region in McLaren Vale. Famous for its ancient North Maslin Sands and gnarly old bush vines, it is a single-vineyard estate dedicated exclusively to the varieties of the Southern Rhône.

For over a quarter of a century, the estate was shaped by the late Peter Fraser. Pete was not just the winemaker; he was the heartbeat of the operation and a visionary who fundamentally changed the way the world views Australian Grenache. He championed "purity, beauty and elegance," moving the needle away from high alcohol and extraction towards finesse and site expression. His pioneering work with ceramic eggs, amphorae and biodynamic farming helped earn Yangarra the title of International Winery of the Year twice.

While the loss of Pete is deeply felt across the industry, the wines remain a lasting testament to his genius. From the world-class Old Vine Grenache and the brooding Ironheart Shiraz to the textural, ceramic-aged Roussanne, every bottle reflects his philosophy of "always a little further." Today, Yangarra remains a certified biodynamic powerhouse and a benchmark producer, continuing to honour the legacy of one of the country's greatest winemakers.

No, feel free to mix it up! There is no minimum requirement. You can order wines in any quantity or combination, 1 or 50+ bottles.

No, all prices are set at the full discounted dozen rate already.

Most wine retailers list at a single-bottle price and then discount 10–15% when you buy six or twelve. We've taken the opposite approach. Since the overwhelming majority of our orders are already 6 bottles or more, our list price is set for the case buyer from the start. There's no inflated single-bottle price to discount down from.

What that means for you:

- One price, same for everyone — no minimum to hit to unlock the best rate
- No mixed-six gymnastics to qualify for a discount
- Our single-bottle price is typically at or below a traditional retailer's by-the-dozen rate

Put simply: the box discount is already baked into the price.

**And if you find it cheaper elsewhere?** Let us know. If the same wine is available at a lower price at another retailer (including at their mixed-six or by-the-dozen rate) we're happy to match it.

If you can't add more wine to your cart it means we are low on stock of that wine. For example, if you are only able to 3 bottles and no more that means we only have 3 bottles left of that wine. If it's a must have, please contact us and we may be able to order more in for you.
