If Downie’s Gippsland Pinot is the brooding artist, this is its bright-eyed, free-spirited sibling. Mornington Peninsula Pinot tends to be more playful, more red-fruited, and this release delivers exactly that - fragrant, lifted, and full of energy.
This Pinot is all about brightness and vibrancy and sourced from two vineyards - Mrs Nicks in Balnarring and Rivendel in Merricks North. Raspberry, redcurrant, and pomegranate burst from the glass, with morello cherry, rhubarb, and a flicker of orange peel adding intrigue. There’s a vermouth-like spice here too, a whisper of thyme and allspice that gives it a savoury edge without losing its juicy core.
Textured, lively, and effortlessly drinkable. A beautiful take on Mornington Pinot from one of Australia’s great Pinot craftsmen. Best from 2025, but don’t be surprised if the first bottle disappears faster than planned.

"One thing appealing with the pinots from Bill Downie is that they are immediately drinkable and deliciously so. Another difficult vintage on the Peninsula but this has a balance of aromas, flavours and texture. Dark red cherries, blood orange and zest with sumac and brown spices plus fresh herbs and a pinch of Italian bitter herbs, too. It’s a savoury wine. Tannins and acidity work in tandem to add definition across the mid-weighted palate."

If you can't add more wine to your cart it means we are low on stock of that wine. For example, if you are only able to 3 bottles and no more that means we only have 3 bottles left of that wine. If it's a must have, please contact us and we may be able to order more in for you.
