William Downie has spent decades refining his craft, and nowhere is that more evident than in his single-vineyard Pinots. Bull Swamp, planted in 1981 on rich red volcanic soils, is the deepest and most brooding of the bunch—a true Gippsland powerhouse.
This is Pinot Noir with presence. Dark berries—blueberry, blackberry, blackcurrant—are layered with poached autumn fruits, rosehip, and exotic spice. The palate is plush yet structured, with fine, earth-driven tannins and a baked red clay warmth that speaks to the vineyard’s dry-grown roots. It’s powerful, yes, but with Downie’s signature touch—purity, balance, and a sense of place.
More open-knit than recent releases, but with the structure to age beautifully. A serious Pinot with soul, best enjoyed from 2027 onward.

"What a wine. Everything has come together harmoniously – the enticing aromas all spicy, floral and earthy, the flavours all juicy cherries and exotic spices with blood orange acidity. The tannins are beautiful, shapely and supple yet oh-so fine and the acid just teases out the finish to linger long. Lovely drink here folks. Alas, will sell out in a flash – be quick."

We stock three different sized gift boxes (single, three bottle and six), all are available for purchase for a flat rate of $8. They look great and make an awesome impression.

If you can't add more wine to your cart it means we are low on stock of that wine. For example, if you are only able to 3 bottles and no more that means we only have 3 bottles left of that wine. If it's a must have, please contact us and we may be able to order more in for you.
