Description

Warramate has always felt like one of those "if you know, you know" Yarra labels. It sits right next door to the iconic Yarra Yering and is crafted by the same elite team, led by Sarah Crowe. While the Yarra Yering Chardonnays are built for the long haul and carry the price tag to match, Warramate is the version you pull out for a midweek lunch when you still want that pedigree and class.

The 2024 is a blend of four different Chardonnay clones, including some old-vine material from the Yarra Yering site. In the winery, they include the "hard pressings" - usually the stuff winemakers discard for being too grippy - to build in extra weight and a bit of phenolic crunch. It’s been fermented on light solids in French oak for nine months, but with only 10% new wood, the fruit stays front and centre.

It’s wonderfully bright and energetic, leading with lemon verbena and crisp pear. There’s a soft, plush texture to the mid-palate from that barrel time, but it’s reined in by a refreshing mineral-lemon finish. It remains one of the best value-for-money Chardonnays in the valley.

"Some pressing included and some mlf. A very bright green gold. Vibrant and fresh with aromas of fresh pear and nectarines. A gentleness on the palate which is composed and well balanced, with fine acidity rounding out a wine to drink now and over the next 2–3 years."

Yarra Yering

Yarra Yering is one of the most iconic wineries of the modern Yarra Valley.

Founded in 1969 by the visionary vigneron Dr. Bailey Carrodous, Yarra Yering has become a benchmark in quality and one of the most collected wineries in the country.

From this small patch of earth in the North of the Gruyere sub-region, Dr. Carrodous produced these legendary wines for more than three decades. In the process becoming recognised as one of the most influential winemakers in the Yarra's history.

Today, the wines are crafted by the talented Sarah Crowe. She brings the wines to bottle with the same passion and attention to detail that made the great Yarra Yering wines of old so revered.

No, feel free to mix it up! There is no minimum requirement. You can order wines in any quantity or combination, 1 or 50+ bottles.

No, all prices are set at the full discounted dozen rate already.

Most wine retailers list at a single-bottle price and then discount 10–15% when you buy six or twelve. We've taken the opposite approach. Since the overwhelming majority of our orders are already 6 bottles or more, our list price is set for the case buyer from the start. There's no inflated single-bottle price to discount down from.

What that means for you:

- One price, same for everyone — no minimum to hit to unlock the best rate
- No mixed-six gymnastics to qualify for a discount
- Our single-bottle price is typically at or below a traditional retailer's by-the-dozen rate

Put simply: the box discount is already baked into the price.

**And if you find it cheaper elsewhere?** Let us know. If the same wine is available at a lower price at another retailer (including at their mixed-six or by-the-dozen rate) we're happy to match it.

If you can't add more wine to your cart it means we are low on stock of that wine. For example, if you are only able to 3 bottles and no more that means we only have 3 bottles left of that wine. If it's a must have, please contact us and we may be able to order more in for you.
