Description

This is the second release of the wine that marked a new chapter in the Voyager story - the first red wine released by winemaker Tim Shand, and a fresh, modern red built for a new generation.

This is a vibrant, and yes, vivid, blend of Shiraz, Grenache, Tempranillo & Merlot, built in a light frame and destined for chilled, warm-weather drinking. It's reminiscent of the lovely, smashable reds Tim made during his time in the Yarra Valley. It's a wine that says, "Drink me now, and drink me with friends in the sun!"

It makes a statement about what Tim's tenure at this historic Margaret River estate is going to look like. Blending tradition with innovation, the old with the new. It's a tantalising preview of what's to come over the coming years for the Voyager label.

93 points - "A blend of shiraz, grenache, tempranillo and merlot, largely whole-bunch fermentation and left on skins for two weeks; as it’s PF (preservative free) there's no added SO2. And vivid red indeed, the colour a gorgeous dark purple shot with red. It’s vibrant and juicy – full of dark fruits and spices – yet savoury, with some charcuterie reduction done nicely, ironstone, too. The palate is lighter framed but not wimpy, tangy with lithe tannins and bright acidity. Chill it down in summer or enjoy as is any other time. Love it.." - Jane Faulkner (Halliday Wine Companion)

92 points - "Gorgeously expressive, buoyant, soft, light but fruity. It’s a touch smoky/meaty/ferrous on the finish and that meatiness tames and shapes the wine. This is a beautiful drink, interesting, vivid in name and vivid by nature. It’s generous, soft and light at once. It brightens the glass and brightens the day." - Campbell Mattinson (The Wine Front)

    Delicious and reliable

This is a lovely wine from a solid favourite WA winery.

A medium weight wine that can be drunk chilled in warmer weather and is just as delish in cooler months. Food friendly and a no-brainer go-to wine for any occasion.

    Party Red

A dangerously easy to drink red. Light, bright and fresh without being candied or too floral. So yum. Will be buying a lot more of this.
