Description

This crisp yet textural number that is the sum of many parts is part of Gus Vinden's experimental range.

Eight varieties comprise this fun and tasty drop, and a range of winemaking techniques were employed to give it some extra 'oomf' - some grapes saw a little skin contact, some went into amphora, some into seasoned French oak, some into stainless steel. It all comes together to offer a textural feast for delightful casual drinking.

Unfined, unfiltered, with a slightly funky undertone, this is a fantastically unconventional Hunter white.

"I wonder if you can guess what all of these varieties are?! This funky little number is light, fun and delicious."
-  Angus Vinden

    Standout wine!

Hooked before, and was not let down by it this time either. Lovely wine!

This years' Pokolbin Blanc is a blend of multiple varieties, with some fermented on skins, some in stainless steel, some in clay amphora and some in neutral French oak, to build complexity, weight and texture. I wonder if you can guess what all of these varieties are?! This funky little number is light, fun and delicious.

Vinden Estate

Angus Vinden, the dynamic young winemaker of Vinden Wines, is redefining this beloved Hunter Valley winery. Taking over from his father a few years ago, Angus has infused fresh energy into the family label, producing exciting, modern wines that are garnering attention from the country's leading wine scribes.

He focuses on the Hunter Valley's classic Semillon and Shiraz, excelling with Tempranillo and even Chenin Blanc while exploring these varieties with a creativity and flair rarely seen in the region. Angus expanded the estate with the purchase of the historic Somerset Vineyard, a vineyard with a storied past, having provided the fruit for some of the region’s most acclaimed wines over the last 50+ years. It is a very good thing for the region that this iconic site is now in Gus' hands.

Vinden Wines is a vibrant blend of tradition and innovation, making it hands down one of the Hunter Valley's most exciting up-and-coming labels.
