Description

For their sixteenth release, Xavier Bizot and Lucy Croser have delivered a standout vintage of their flagship Sauvignon Blanc from the now-iconic Crayères Vineyard in Wrattonbully. Grown on ancient limestone ridges beneath clay-rich Terra Rossa soils, this is Sauvignon Blanc that trades brashness for balance, structure and longevity.

The 2024 vintage is an especially generous and textured wine. Ripe stone fruits, white florals, and subtle herbs glide across a silky palate, while the wine’s signature mineral line adds lift and persistence. There’s no overt oak here - just quiet complexity from fermentation in old barrels (57%) and stainless steel (43%), then six months on lees before bottling.

Elegant but not austere, this vintage is already superb, but it’s got a few gears left in the tank for those who like to cellar. Benchmark stuff from one of Australia’s most thoughtful Sauvignon Blanc producers.

This is intense and laser focussed; primary now, but with so much potential for cellar evolution.

"Some lovely peachy aromatics this vintage, a hint of tangelo, young papaya and golden kiwi. Compact layers of flavour and echoing notes of tropical fruit. Freshly juiced pineapple citric notes and a long line of fruit and sandstone minerals. A big-hearted style with richness and persistence."
- Shanteh Wale (Halliday Wine Companion)

"The 2024 Crayeres Vineyard Sauvignon Blanc leads with salted churned butter, white flowers, beeswax, lemon pith, almond meal and apricot kernel... A blistering value for money, it offers a legitimate cellaring proposition and is also a great wine to drink now."
- Erin Larkin (The Wine Advocate)

95 points - "Fruit is from the close-planted Crayères vineyard. 57% of the wine was fermented in older oak barrels. Some lovely peachy aromatics this vintage, a hint of tangelo, young papaya and golden kiwi. Compact layers of flavour and echoing notes of tropical fruit. Freshly juiced pineapple citric notes and a long line of fruit and sandstone minerals. A big-hearted style with richness and persistence." - Shanteh Wale (Halliday Wine Companion)

95 points - "The 2024 Crayeres Vineyard Sauvignon Blanc leads with salted churned butter, white flowers, beeswax, lemon pith, almond meal and apricot kernel. In the mouth, the wine is pure and powerful, with a cascade of nuts, baking spices, brine and curd. This is eminently sophisticated and a shining example of what is possible within the context of this style. The vineyard is on a 37-million-year-old limestone ridge in the heart of Wrattonbully wine region in South Australia. The wine was fermented and matured in a combination of French oak and stainless steel, kept on the full lees in both vessels, with no bâtonnage, then was blended, settled for a couple of months and bottled. This is a sensational wine. A blistering value for money, it offers a legitimate cellaring proposition and is also a great wine to drink now. Your call, both pathways are valid. 13.5% alcohol, sealed under screw cap." - Erin Larkin (The Wine Advocate)

94 points - "The thing about this wine is that everything is so even and all just so. There’s plenty of flavour which is gooseberry, kiwi fruit, and pink grapefruit, a slight herbal character, and some biscuit spice. The texture is gently chalky and the acidity is bright but settled, which gives it a bit of zing, and the finish is long with a fresh pineapple juiciness. Excellent." - Gary Walsh (The Wine Front)

94 points - "From the Crayères Vineyard in Wrattonbully, this is always a much lauded Sauvignon Blanc. 2024 was an excellent vintage for the region. This is not your average swill-thrill-and forget Savvy, but rather, a complex and well-worked effort that lifts it well above and beyond the ordinary offering. 57% was whole bunch pressed and fermented in old oak with the remainder in stainless steel. Malo is avoided. 4,950 cases. The palest lemon hue, this is a complex, intense and yet elegant style. There are citrusy notes throughout, with hints of limes and grapefruit, and a hint of dried herbs. Fine, rather gentle acidity, this really does offer a much greater degree of elegance than usually found with this variety. A lingering finish, the wine will drink beautifully over the next half dozen years. Very impressive all round." - Ken Gargett (Wine Pilot)

Whelmed

I’m not usually a fan of SB, but this is probably the best I’ve had. There’s good depth and energy. It didn’t change my mind, but for sure it’s well made and there’s something here. If you’re a fan of SB then you’ll probably really enjoy it.

Delicious and textural

Think Sauvignon Blanc meets Gruner Veltliner, a welcome textural flow.

This is the Sixteenth release of our Sauvignon Blanc from our close-spaced Crayères Vineyard. This vintage, the wine was fermented partly in stainless steel and partly in old oak barrels. The 2024 vintage is a very generous example of our Sauvignon Blanc and will benefit from time in the cellar, gaining some complexity with age.

No, feel free to mix it up! There is no minimum requirement. You can order wines in any quantity or combination, 1 or 50+ bottles.

No, all prices are set at the full discounted dozen rate already.

Most wine retailers list at a single-bottle price and then discount 10–15% when you buy six or twelve. We've taken the opposite approach. Since the overwhelming majority of our orders are already 6 bottles or more, our list price is set for the case buyer from the start. There's no inflated single-bottle price to discount down from.

What that means for you:

- One price, same for everyone — no minimum to hit to unlock the best rate
- No mixed-six gymnastics to qualify for a discount
- Our single-bottle price is typically at or below a traditional retailer's by-the-dozen rate

Put simply: the box discount is already baked into the price.

**And if you find it cheaper elsewhere?** Let us know. If the same wine is available at a lower price at another retailer (including at their mixed-six or by-the-dozen rate) we're happy to match it.

If you can't add more wine to your cart it means we are low on stock of that wine. For example, if you are only able to 3 bottles and no more that means we only have 3 bottles left of that wine. If it's a must have, please contact us and we may be able to order more in for you.
