Description

Sam Connew’s 2024 Stargazer Tupelo brings together Pinot Gris, Pinot Blanc, Riesling, and a touch of Gewurztraminer in an aromatic blend that’s all about character and charm. Inspired by Alsatian classics, it’s a fresh, fragrant drop that feels at home on its own or paired with your favourite dishes.

Expect layers of pear, peach, and subtle florals, all tied together with bright acidity and just the right amount of texture. It’s lively without being over the top, striking that perfect balance between juicy fruit and a crisp, clean finish.

This is a wine that loves food—especially anything with a bit of spice. Thai curries, Vietnamese salads, or even a midweek stir-fry will shine with Tupelo in the mix. It’s versatile, vibrant, and effortlessly enjoyable.

As always with Stargazer, quantities are limited, so grab it while you can. This is aromatic blending done right—relaxed, balanced, and seriously good value.

95 points - "Wonderfully perfumed aromas of yellow apples, rose petals, lemon curd and sweet spices. The palate is textural with focused acidity, giving notes of grapefruit, quince, lime sherbet and chalk. A finely constructed blend of 42% pinot gris, 30% riesling, 21% gewurztraminer and 7% pinot blanc. Delicious." - JamesSuckling.com

    Smashable food wine

Aromatic, good acid balance and food friendly. Lychees, rose, lemon. Almost off dry. Perfect with spicy rich foods. Thai curry, even stands up to spaghetti bolognese. This wine maker has the Midas touch

This unusual blend mirrors the famous Alsatian ‘Gentil’ styles marrying the body of Pinot Gris, the exuberance of Pinot Blanc with the spicy aromatics of Gewürztraminer and the finesse of Riesling. Pale yellow in colour, the nose shows plenty of exotic notes: honeysuckle, orange blossom and dried orange skin. Textural and generous on the palate with a roundness and mouthcoating quality, pear tarte tatin and lemon curd frame the long finish.
