Description

Corey Ryan and Simon Cowham have spent years building Sons of Eden into a reliable Barossa powerhouse. They dedicate this cuvée to the late David Marschall - a local vigneron who somehow balanced growing premium grapes with a side hustle as a martial artist and demolition expert.

The fruit is pulled from several mature Barossa sub-regions, but the backbone relies heavily on two specific sites. Sandy plots in Tanunda provide high-toned aromatics, while a twenty-six-year-old parcel on the iron-rich soils of Ebenezer brings the structural grunt and deep fruit weight.

Ryan and Cowham don't rush the extraction, giving the fruit up to twenty days on skins following a five-day cold soak. The juice is pressed off into a mix of new and seasoned oak hogsheads for fourteen months of maturation, before going to bottle without any filtration to keep the mouthfeel fully intact.

It's a distinctly modern take on Barossa Shiraz, trading heavy, jammy extraction for bright bramble, dark cherry, and a flash of star anise. It carries plenty of density and polish, wrapped in slick tannins that make it dangerously easy to crack open. A fantastic entry-point into Barossa Shiraz, the Marschall punches well above its weight, delivering exceptional value every single year.

The MARSCHALL is a Barossa Valley Shiraz, named as a tribute to the legendary Barossa Valley Vignerons
who pioneered the planting of the old treasured vineyards, which the Barossa enjoys today. David Marschall
was a man of many talents and in conjunction with growing exceptional fruit was a revered martial artist, actor
and demolition expert. His legacy lives on through his vineyards within the Tanunda and Ebenezer districts,
which make up the backbone of this wine.
2024 MARSCHALL Barossa Valley Shiraz
Wine Description
Dense garnet in colour, with a complex and vibrant array of red-licorice and spiced plum
aromas. The palate is rich, rounded and intensely flavoured, finishing with seamless
velvety tannins. Delicious drinking upon release but will mature very well for the medium
to longer term.
Winemaking
The Marschall Family vineyards are located in the Tanunda and Ebenezer districts of
the Barossa Valley. The Tanunda vineyard is grown on sandy soils which typically
produce aromatic styled Shiraz, while the rich iron clad soils of Ebenezer produce a
more dense fruit core and structured style.
A wide range of fermentation techniques were utilised, but all involved extended
skin contact ranging from 15 to 20 days. A cold soak period of up to 5 days
occurred before a natural warming to start the fermentation. Upon completion the
ferments were pressed to a mix of new and seasoned oak hogsheads, for
malolactic fermentation and maturation. Matured in barrel with minimal intervention
for 14 months, then naturally clarified, and bottled without filtration.

No, feel free to mix it up! There is no minimum requirement. You can order wines in any quantity or combination, 1 or 50+ bottles.

No, all prices are set at the full discounted dozen rate already.

Most wine retailers list at a single-bottle price and then discount 10–15% when you buy six or twelve. We've taken the opposite approach. Since the overwhelming majority of our orders are already 6 bottles or more, our list price is set for the case buyer from the start. There's no inflated single-bottle price to discount down from.

What that means for you:

- One price, same for everyone — no minimum to hit to unlock the best rate
- No mixed-six gymnastics to qualify for a discount
- Our single-bottle price is typically at or below a traditional retailer's by-the-dozen rate

Put simply: the box discount is already baked into the price.

**And if you find it cheaper elsewhere?** Let us know. If the same wine is available at a lower price at another retailer (including at their mixed-six or by-the-dozen rate) we're happy to match it.

If you can't add more wine to your cart it means we are low on stock of that wine. For example, if you are only able to 3 bottles and no more that means we only have 3 bottles left of that wine. If it's a must have, please contact us and we may be able to order more in for you.
