Description

Kevin Judd’s Greywacke Sauvignon Blanc is one of Marlborough’s benchmarks, showing how much nuance the region’s flagship variety can have when handled with care. The 2024 vintage follows that same path – intensely aromatic but balanced, ripe yet precise.

Fruit was sourced from a handful of mature vineyards in the Southern Valleys and the lower Wairau. The parcels were mostly fermented in stainless steel, with a small portion in old oak to build texture and complexity. As always, it’s less about punchy fruit and more about layering and shape.

In the glass, it’s classic Greywacke – citrus zest, passionfruit, lemongrass and a hint of flint. The palate is juicy but refined, balancing bright tropical fruit with a fine, chalky finish. It’s refreshing without being simple and shows just how good Marlborough Sauvignon can be when it’s made with a bit of restraint.

    beautiful perfume

Typical New Zealand Sauvignon Blanc , with a beautiful perfume , fruity and delicious.

A delightful fusion of ripe summer fruit and delicate floral perfume –
Golden Queen peaches and poached yellow pears; baked apples, mango and rock melon; mingled with apple blossom fragrance and a twist of lemon sherbet. Succulent and crisp, with a delicate fennel-like herbal quality and a dry, textural palate. Quintessentially Marlborough, but a deliciously subtle, ripe interpretation of the classic style.

Fruit was sourced from various prime vineyard sites in Marlborough’s
Southern Valleys and the central Wairau Plains (specifically Woodbourne, Renwick and Rapaura). Soil types vary from the young alluvial soils of Rapaura and Renwick, which contain high proportions of New Zealand’s ubiquitous greywacke river stones, to the older and denser clay-loams of the Southern Valleys. The majority of the vineyards were trained using the
divided Scott Henry canopy management system, with the balance on a two- or three-cane VSP (vertical shoot positioning) trellis
