Description

The Village Pinot might be Gembrook Hill’s more approachable offering, but it’s still cut from the same cloth as their flagship wines. All Upper Yarra fruit, same thoughtful, hands-off winemaking, just bottled a little earlier and priced to enjoy more often.

2024 was a cooler, slower vintage, which suited this site down to the ground. Fruit was picked by hand, fermented naturally, and aged in mostly old French oak – nothing fancy, just careful, considered work. The result is a Pinot that’s light on its feet but full of personality.

It’s got that classic Gembrook elegance – bright red berries, a bit of spice, soft earthiness, and really fine tannins. Super drinkable right now, but it’ll hang in the cellar a few years if you want it to.

This is proper Yarra Valley Pinot with no ego – just clean fruit, gentle structure and loads of charm.

Great value Australian Pinot

Lovely Pinot and amazing value for the price. Drink it every night.

This is the only wine in our range that is not made from grapes grown on our property at Gembrook. This year our Village Pinot is a single vineyard pinot from a vineyard in Yellingbo in the Upper Yarra Valley. In a curious twist for the Upper Yarra Valley, this vineyard is situated on grey clay loam. So while the fruit has hallmark Upper Yarra perfume it has a denser richer palate and tannin structure.

In the winery the fruit is destemmed, fermented on skins for 3-4 weeks and matured in large format old French oak.

Unfined, unfiltered. Estate bottled.

Gembrook Hill

Based in the cool upper reaches of the Yarra Valley, Gembrook Hill is one of the country's most loved producers of Pinot Noir.

Founded in 1983 by Ian and June Marks, Gembrook is one of the most picturesque vineyards in the region. As well as their stunning Pinot Noirs, they produce excellent examples of Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc and an elegant Blanc de Blanc in certain vintages.

Ian Marks sadly passed away in 2017. His son Andrew now tends the family vineyard and makes the wines, continuing the family legacy for producing outstanding examples of Upper Yarra wine.

No, feel free to mix it up! There is no minimum requirement. You can order wines in any quantity or combination, 1 or 50+ bottles.

No, all prices are set at the full discounted dozen rate already.

Most wine retailers list at a single-bottle price and then discount 10–15% when you buy six or twelve. We've taken the opposite approach. Since the overwhelming majority of our orders are already 6 bottles or more, our list price is set for the case buyer from the start. There's no inflated single-bottle price to discount down from.

What that means for you:

- One price, same for everyone — no minimum to hit to unlock the best rate
- No mixed-six gymnastics to qualify for a discount
- Our single-bottle price is typically at or below a traditional retailer's by-the-dozen rate

Put simply: the box discount is already baked into the price.

**And if you find it cheaper elsewhere?** Let us know. If the same wine is available at a lower price at another retailer (including at their mixed-six or by-the-dozen rate) we're happy to match it.

If you can't add more wine to your cart it means we are low on stock of that wine. For example, if you are only able to 3 bottles and no more that means we only have 3 bottles left of that wine. If it's a must have, please contact us and we may be able to order more in for you.
