Ernesto Catena’s Padrillos Malbec is a great way into the world of Mendoza reds - generous, smooth, and made for easy drinking. The fruit comes from organically farmed vineyards in the Uco Valley, and while this is a simple wine in all the right ways, it still shows the care and personality behind it.
Padrillos, meaning “stallions”, is a nod to Ernesto’s polo background and his laid-back approach to making wine that’s full of life. This Malbec is all about ripe red and dark fruits, with a little herbal twist and just enough tannin to keep things tidy. It’s soft, savoury and super versatile - built for relaxed nights in or casual dinners with friends.
There’s no heavy oak or overextraction here, just bright fruit, good texture and a clean finish. A lovely mid-week red that punches well above its price tag.

Easy to drink. A little less body that the usual Malbec and not as earthy with low acidity and berries after tones. Feels younger than it’s age.
I recon it would age well over next3 ys. Max.

I was enticed by the fabulous label on this bottle and the wine did not disappoint. So easy to drink and so sad once the bottle was finished. Highly recommend.

We stock three different sized gift boxes (single, three bottle and six), all are available for purchase for a flat rate of $8. They look great and make an awesome impression.

If you can't add more wine to your cart it means we are low on stock of that wine. For example, if you are only able to 3 bottles and no more that means we only have 3 bottles left of that wine. If it's a must have, please contact us and we may be able to order more in for you.
