Description

Charlotte Hardy makes wines with a lot of heart, and Fred Fiano is one of her most personal – named after her dad.

The fruit comes from Brad Case’s vineyard in Langhorne Creek, where Fiano thrives in the region’s warm days and cool nights. The grapes were pressed straight into French oak (about 10% new) for wild fermentation and full malolactic. It stayed on full solids in barrel right up until bottling, with only a touch of sulphur added – nothing else.

The result is textural and bright, with layers of pear, citrus and a touch of honey. It’s got richness without heaviness, kept in line by Fiano’s natural acidity and a bit of grip through the finish.

Deliciously versatile and tip top value.

"But oh the palate – textural, lightly creamy/nutty, fresh and vibrant... A cracking wine."
- Jane Faulkner (Halliday Wine Companion)

95 points - "A fair amount of colour, albeit straw, gold and bright, as the fruit is pressed direct to barrel, a mix of barriques and hogsheads, fermented wild and left on lees until bottled. Such an adaptable variety and, if done well, fiano can handle all that winemaking, acidity intact, and leave a gorgeous impression. Expect jasmine and orange blossom, char-grilled jalapeños, fennel and freshly cut galangal. But oh the palate – textural, lightly creamy/nutty, fresh and vibrant with finger lime-like acidity and just the right amount of phenolics to add some depth. A cracking wine." - Jane Faulkner (Halliday Wine Companion)

I’ve had better

I love a good Fiano. This one unfortunately missed the mark.

Fred Fiano - a heartfelt tribute to my beloved Dad, the ever-busy bee. Fiano, often hailed as the wine of the bees, draws these diligent worker insects to its flowers and grapes

The grapes flourish under the care of Brad Case, whose fervor for cultivating the perfect varietals in ideal locales drives his relentless pursuit of excellence in Langhorne Creek.

I pressed the grapes directly into French barriques, among which 10% are brand new by French cooper Chassin - a touch that adds a further dimension to the wine.

This wine was fermented with wild yeasts within these barrels, remaining on full solids until bottling. A minimal additionof sulfur was added just prior to bottling, with no other adds made. The wine underwent full malolactic fermentation.

Pear, citus and honey with a full, textural palate and a succelnt lemon lime finish.

No, feel free to mix it up! There is no minimum requirement. You can order wines in any quantity or combination, 1 or 50+ bottles.

No, all prices are set at the full discounted dozen rate already.

Most wine retailers list at a single-bottle price and then discount 10–15% when you buy six or twelve. We've taken the opposite approach. Since the overwhelming majority of our orders are already 6 bottles or more, our list price is set for the case buyer from the start. There's no inflated single-bottle price to discount down from.

What that means for you:

- One price, same for everyone — no minimum to hit to unlock the best rate
- No mixed-six gymnastics to qualify for a discount
- Our single-bottle price is typically at or below a traditional retailer's by-the-dozen rate

Put simply: the box discount is already baked into the price.

**And if you find it cheaper elsewhere?** Let us know. If the same wine is available at a lower price at another retailer (including at their mixed-six or by-the-dozen rate) we're happy to match it.

If you can't add more wine to your cart it means we are low on stock of that wine. For example, if you are only able to 3 bottles and no more that means we only have 3 bottles left of that wine. If it's a must have, please contact us and we may be able to order more in for you.
