Description

Punt Road’s estate-grown Pinot Gris is one of those wines that delivers far more than you expect for the price. The 2024 release comes from their Coldstream vineyards, where the cooler pockets and mix of soil types help the variety hold freshness while still developing flavour.

Hand-picked fruit was wild fermented in a mix of stainless steel and older French oak, then left on lees to build texture and weight. The result is a dry, quietly layered style — pear and apple at its core, a little citrus lift, and a subtle savoury note from the lees work. The palate has enough shape to make it food-friendly, but stays bright and clean enough for easy drinking on its own.

It’s exactly what you want from a Yarra Pinot Gris — crisp, well-made, and priced so you can keep it in regular rotation without thinking twice.

This is pretty straight down the line with nashi pear, citrus, woodsmoke and chalk characters doing the main work, though there are exotic floral characters infused throughout as well.     A pleasant wine, good value for money

    A pleasant PG, would buy again, rather than being outstanding it is just nice and safe

Nashi pear, red apple and citrus. Medium-bodied with refreshing acidity. We carefully select parcels of pinot gris grapes from across the estate to create this fresh and savoury pinot gris. We harvested earlier than usual to capture the bright acidity we love, and we used skin contact and wild-yeast fermentation in seasoned oak puncheons with regular lees stirring to add to the texture of the complex layered palate.
