Description

Winifred is not your average rosé - she’s charismatic, confident, and full of life. A blend of Blaufränkisch and Zweigelt grown on gravel soils, this wine is pressed straight to old oak barrels and left to rest on lees for eight months, untouched and unsulphured. The finished wine is a zippy, textured pink wine that’s so much more than just pretty in the glass.

This vintage sees tart raspberry, just-ripe strawberries and a shimmer of spice all wrapped up in a savoury, mouth-watering frame. There’s a gentle grip and mineral spark that makes it feel more like a serious wine that just happens to be pink.

Winifred continues to prove that great rosé isn’t a compromise - it’s a style with its own energy and depth. Bright, delicious and full of personality, this is as joyful as it is thought-provoking. A cult favourite for a reason.

Gut Oggau

Gut Oggau is one of Burgenland's finest cult producers.

Eduard Tscheppe & Stephanie Tscheppe-Eselböck took over Vineyard Wimmer, a 13-hectare estate near the banks of Lake Neusiedl, in 2007.

In the intervening years, they have converted the vineyard to biodynamics (Demeter certified) and set about producing some of Burgenland's most electric lo-fi wines.

Raw, charismatic and lively, the Gut Oggau Australian allocations come and go in the blink of an eye.
