Description

Here we have Frankland Estate’s flagship red blend, in potentially career-best form.

Named after viticultural pioneer Dr. Harold Olmo, this is a Cabernet Franc dominant Bordeaux blend (of sorts) supported by Cabernet Sauvignon and Malbec. It's a highly sophisticated, intellectual red that swaps old-school, heavy-handed extraction for pure, soil-driven precision and incredible cellaring potential.

The 2023 vintage was arguably one of the most beautiful, mild, and trouble-free seasons Western Australia has ever seen, allowing the fruit to ripen slowly without any extreme heat. In the winery, the team handled the fruit with their typical light touch to preserve its natural energy, including a bit of whole-bunch fermentation to build structural complexity. The wine was matured in large, neutral French oak casks to let the pristine fruit and ironstone minerality take complete control.

The nose is incredibly complex and lifted, throwing out wild raspberry, red cherry, dried herbs, and an exotic mix of market spices and tobacco. On the palate, it's medium-to-full-bodied, balancing its deep plum and peppery spice flavours with a dream-like powdery tannin structure. It finishes long, mineral, and effortlessly poised.

This is a stunning, world-class blend built to evolve beautifully over the next two decades.

"This is mineral, earthy and fine, and it leaves a trail of exotic notes on the palate. This is very impressive, perhaps the best (my favorite) release of this wine to date."
- Erin Larkin (The Wine Advocate)

96 points - "Never has there been a more beautiful year in Western Australia than 2023. I mean, never say never—2025 was very good, 2026 seemed exceptional, and then there are the historically sensational vintages (2018 et. al) to be considered. However, 2023 was beautiful because it was mild and unmarred by extreme heat or weather events; the lead-in was devoid of trouble at flowering, and the only concern occurred very late into harvest with some rain, which was location-dependent. So here, the 2023 Olmo's Reward is limpid and spicy, with some whole-bunch graininess to the tannins and layers of spice woven through the finish. This is mineral, earthy and fine, and it leaves a trail of exotic notes on the palate. This is very impressive, perhaps the best (my favorite) release of this wine to date. 14% alcohol, sealed under screw cap." - Erin Larkin (The Wine Advocate)

96 points - "The Estate’s flagship red, which they describe as a Bordeaux style blend, though the majority of the wine is Cabernet Franc, supported by contributions from Cabernet Sauvignon and friends, Malbec with this vintage. And what a superb vintage it is. Deep crimson with a ruby rim, the nose offers an array of aromas including dried herbs, charcuterie, wild raspberries, red cherries, market spices, kirsch and aniseed. There is exciting energy here with good focus, knife-edge balance and impressive length. The texture is near dream-like and the wine finishes with fine, powdery tannins. Superb stuff. A twenty-year proposition." - Ken Gargett (Wine Pilot)

93+ points - "Organically grown, Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon and malbec.

This is a medium-weight, fluid, well structured red with plum, peppercorn, iodine, tobacco, rust and sweet/peppery spice notes to the fore. It feels composed, even calm, though there’s enough underlying tension to make it feel confident and in control. There’s a light dusting of chocolate/cocoa in evidence too, though it really is ultra light. This wine doesn’t really bowl you over right now but it will be an excellent performer in the cellar." - Campbell Mattinson (The Wine Front)

Frankland Estate is cutting a mean wave through the industry and picking up a lot of recognition in the process.

No, feel free to mix it up! There is no minimum requirement. You can order wines in any quantity or combination, 1 or 50+ bottles.

No, all prices are set at the full discounted dozen rate already.

Most wine retailers list at a single-bottle price and then discount 10–15% when you buy six or twelve. We've taken the opposite approach. Since the overwhelming majority of our orders are already 6 bottles or more, our list price is set for the case buyer from the start. There's no inflated single-bottle price to discount down from.

What that means for you:

- One price, same for everyone — no minimum to hit to unlock the best rate
- No mixed-six gymnastics to qualify for a discount
- Our single-bottle price is typically at or below a traditional retailer's by-the-dozen rate

Put simply: the box discount is already baked into the price.

**And if you find it cheaper elsewhere?** Let us know. If the same wine is available at a lower price at another retailer (including at their mixed-six or by-the-dozen rate) we're happy to match it.

If you can't add more wine to your cart it means we are low on stock of that wine. For example, if you are only able to 3 bottles and no more that means we only have 3 bottles left of that wine. If it's a must have, please contact us and we may be able to order more in for you.
