Description

The Cirillo Vincent Grenache is, year after year, one of the country's best-value Grenache. It's also a homage to Marco's father, who passed down all of his winemaking knowledge (spanning 8 generations!) down to him.

Vincent is a charismatic character, just like his maker. It bucks the trend of big, sweet, oaky Barossa Grenache and sits firmly in the bright, cheery and gluggable camp.

A portion of whole bunches give it a lifted perfume and silky texture, while the use of older French oak and stainless steel ensure this is a lot brighter and bouncier than many of its Barossa counterparts.

Exceedingly easy drinking and tremendous value.

"Is this the best value red wine in Australia? It'd have to be up there at the pointy end... Savoury and crunchy and just delivers so much enjoyment for the price. A cracker."
- Dave Brookes (Halliday Wine Companion)

94 points - "Is this the best value red wine in Australia? It'd have to be up there at the pointy end. Grenache from a handful of vineyards; 1901 and 1906 plantings with some declassified 1850 vine fruit for good measure. That's just bonkers when you think about it. Magenta-splashed crimson, super high-toned, mid-weighted with crunchy red plum and red cherry fruits dusted with gingery spice, floral tones and cola. Savoury and crunchy and just delivers so much enjoyment for the price. A cracker." - Dave Brookes (Halliday Wine Companion)

92 points - "Exuberant strawberries and raspberries really jump out of the glass. Medium- to full-bodied style, with some fine-grained sandy tannins providing grip and texture. Good sense of purity and freshness, a well-balanced contemporary Grenache. Will need some food if drinking young. Drink cool." - Matt Walls (Decanter)

    Great value

Great value Grenache - slightly on the sweeter side but great flavour and not overpowering like other examples.

“The Vincent is a thank you to my father who has passed eight generations of Italian winemaking and grape growing knowledge down to the ninth”.
This Grenache is produced from two 100+ (1901 an 1906) year old vineyards from the renowned Barossa Valley. It offers inviting aromas of rich fruit and white pepper. The palate is generous with intense true varietal characteristics. It’s delicately rounded and generous. A superb Grenache that has a lingering finish. A wine that can be enjoyed now, or well into the future.

Cirillo

Marco Cirillo is Barossan to the core. His family lays claim to the world’s oldest continuously producing Grenache vines, the most ancient of them dating back to 1850. This is an incredible achievement from the Cirillos and those vignerons who have tended to these vines for over 160 years.

Marco's range of wines made primarily from Grenache and Shiraz screams quality at every level, with old vine concentration paired with the modern brightness of fruit. Considering the incredible history in every bottle, they provide incredible value for the money also - the Vincent Grenache is one of the best $25ish wines in the country. One of our favourite Barossa producers.

Ordering

We want Different Drop customers to always be getting the best price. If you see a lower price elsewhere, just get in touch and we will sort it out for you. We handle all our price-matching on a case by case basis.

Some things to keep in mind:

  • Retrospective price-matching is available for 30 days after you have purchased from us.
  • The price match cannot be used in conjunction with a coupon or one-off deal we are offering. The idea is for you to get the best price in the market so if that is already achieved through a coupon then we won't price match on top of that.
  • We don't price match clearance or fire sales.
  • We’ll match the listed price as long as it is a legitimate offer and the competing store is actually able to fulfil the order (they have stock or more stock is en route). Essentially we won't price match cheeky vendors listing wines they have no hope of actually getting for you...
  • It must be a publicly listed price. We won't match a price that has been achieved through a coupon/cash-back arrangement, or through a non-advertised offer over the phone or otherwise.
  • It is limited to a reasonable retail quantity.

We'll treat each price match request on its merit and reserve the right to refuse where we deem fit. For example, particularly rare wines, from non-trust-worthy vendors, in circumstances we deem illegitimate or if we feel our policy is being unfairly taken advantage of.

At the end of the day, we'll look after you and use common sense to ensure you're getting the best price, please just don't take the p%$$!

No, feel free to mix it up! There is no minimum requirement. You can order wines in any quantity or combination, 1 or 50+ bottles.

We stock three different sized gift boxes (single, three bottle and six), all are available for purchase for a flat rate of $8. They look great and make an awesome impression.

To add a gift box to your order, simply add at checkout. The special requests box is your friend, please give us as many details of what you are looking for and we will try our best, or get in contact to discuss it with you.

If you want to bulk order gifts or if you have any trouble please email hello@differentdrop.com or call and we can try and help.

If you can't add more wine to your cart it means we are low on stock of that wine. For example, if you are only able to 3 bottles and no more that means we only have 3 bottles left of that wine. If it's a must have, please contact us and we may be able to order more in for you.
