The Pyrette is Michael Dhillon’s take on Heathcote, and as you would expect from the man behind Bindi, it is all about finesse. While his home turf is the cool Macedon Ranges, this project sees him heading north to the Mount Camel Range, working with a high-altitude block planted on those famous, deep red Cambrian soils.
The goal here is specific: to capture the region’s natural richness without losing vibrancy. The fruit comes from a cooler, east-facing slope near Colbinabbin, which helps retain freshness even in this warmer climate. In the winery, Michael follows his typical Shiraz recipie, fermenting with wild yeast in open vats and maturing the wine in French oak with just 10% new wood.
It is a powerful wine, but it carries its weight with restraint. You get classic Heathcote mouth-filling richness, but it’s lifted by fragrance and a vital energy that prevents it from feeling heavy. It is spicy, generous, and harmoniously balanced - a lovely pure expression of the site filtered through an astute winemaking mind.

We stock three different sized gift boxes (single, three bottle and six), all are available for purchase for a flat rate of $8. They look great and make an awesome impression.

Our warehouse is automated so unless you tell us otherwise, we will ship your order. If you can't add more wine to your cart it means we are low on stock of that wine. For example, if you are only able to 3 bottles and no more that means we only have 3 bottles left of that wine. If it's a must have, please contact us and we may be able to order more in for you.
