Description
This Cabernet Franc comes from Brodie Smith’s vineyard in Polish Hill River, now certified organic and in great shape. The fruit was picked by hand, destemmed and crushed, then fermented cool in concrete for two weeks before heading into old oak for nine months.
It’s mid-weight and fresh, with red berry fruit, subtle herbs, and a gentle line of spice. No oak flavour to speak of, just clean, expressive fruit and a bit of texture from time on skins.
This is one of those wines that doesn’t need to announce itself. Easy to like, no excess, and plenty of energy. A great take on Clare Valley Franc that feels both relaxed and well-made.

"A tangy and highly spiced expression of Cabernet Franc here... Orange peel and pepper in the aftertaste. Frisky and spicy. Fine-boned and engaging. You have to like them on the cusp, that frisson and tang maybe more appealing to some than others, though I do like the wine."

This was a bit of a revelation. Delicious fruit forward wine with such a drinkable medium body.

If you can't add more wine to your cart it means we are low on stock of that wine. For example, if you are only able to 3 bottles and no more that means we only have 3 bottles left of that wine. If it's a must have, please contact us and we may be able to order more in for you.
