About This Wine
Made by Will Rickard-Bell from Rikard Wines, this skin-contact Pinot Gris comes from a vineyard high on Mt Canobolas in Orange, sitting at 950m elevation.
The rich volcanic soils of this extinct volcano, are fertile ground for grape-growing, producing fruit of exceptional depth and character. This Gris is a great entry point into skin-contact wines, not too grippy or phenolically structured, rather aromatic, and delicate. Light spice, softly-sweet stone fruit, with great cool-climate acidity.
One of those rare birds, and answer to the question; are wines from Orange, orange wines?
About Mountain People
Sydney wine guy Tom Egan is the man behind Mountain People, with the aim to add to the growing landscape of NSW wine.
Tom has been around the Sydney wine scene for a while, first with his Jed wines label, producing Argentinian wine.
Growing further, he built a distribution company in the 2010’s, with a focus on newer, emerging producers from Australia and beyond.
Tom’s a good dude, friendly, loveable, and a valued part of the Sydney wine community, now putting some focus into broadening the scope of NSW wine across the country.
